It was only the day before the announcement was made that E.ON's commercial director, Jim McDonald, said to the Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee that he was "very optimistic" about reducing prices.
He told MPs: "We would hope to see something soon."

What happened? Did he wake up the next morning and throw a couple of darts at a dartboard to make a decision, unfortunately missing the board entirely with the gas price reduction dart?
... and there was me thinking it was the MPs themselves who were the experts in being economical with the truth and the doctors of spin."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Perhaps they should be answering the calls from their disgruntled customers rather than advertising on here, carmine.
Has anyone tried calling e.on recently?
"Please hold, all our advisors are busy at present but your call is important to us. One of our advisors will be with you shortly"

I pay by fixed monthly direct debit. I asked E.On CS to put it up by £20 per month, as my last bill left a deficit (and I'd calculated what was required), but instead they told me they were adding £70. doh!
Guess I'm moving elsewhere soon.0 -

I can understand why that question was asked.
I personally want to share what I know with whoever needs the help, regardless of who supplies them.
Over the past couple of weeks we have had some very positive response to us being here. We will continue to do so while we are helping the general public.“Official Company Representative

1carminestocky is correct, we do only work office hours.
Quite a few of you have now posted comments and questions about our announcement yesterday, so I’ll try to answer as much as I can.
The reason that our price reduction is only for electricity is that we’ve already been amongst the cheapest out there for gas during the winter, when people need it most. And although British Gas dropped their gas prices by 10%, it really only brought them into line with what ours have been for months.
Most people’s gas usage is highest in winter and lowest in the summer, whereas for electricity we use a similar amount all year round. So we’ll all benefit by the electricity prices coming down now because we don’t use so much gas from March onwards anyway.
We might be able to drop prices further in future if the wholesale prices carry on coming down.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
I beg to differ, you could not have had both gas rises happen in the space of two months that I have moved to you. I will just PM you my post code so you can see for yourself the massive bill I got from you recently. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -

I know last time I rang I was on hold for ages, but hey I rang the free phone number, not ringing the 0845. EDF have a free phone number, why don't E-ON?!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

I am guessing they will do this to me soon, they locked me in until Oct(unfairly as no one bothered to tell me about this clause) After that I will be moving back to my old supplier, they never let me down.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

If they didn't tell you then it can't be valid, ask them to prove it - don't take it lying down!
I built up a credit over winter but they still tried their luck increasing the payment by almost 50%!!
When I called to get some sense out of them they tried to justify it but eventually gave in and reversed the decision.
It seems Peter Luff MP was right about them boosting their cash flow :rolleyes:0 -

I believe they do. That's why her name comes up pink, and I personally appreciate her presence. If you don't like what she has to say then don't read it.0
