My Debt Diary

Hi James
I just read through your whole diary last night and wanted to say what a great inspiration you are and what a great diary
Your diary is of particular interest to me because I work my finances in a similar way to you. I also allow myself around £100 - £120 a month for my 'pocket money'. However, I seem to have spent most of this in the first two weeks as I get asked out to lunch, always seem to run out of groceries and enjoy the odd bottle of wine (or three) here and there. I think I will try to divide my max of £120 up into a weekly budget of £30 a week as I'm tired of not having *any* money for the last two weeks of the month because I've blown it in the first two weeks
I know that you have the incentive of getting rid of your debt, but I am fortunate not to have any debt now (paid it off last week :T ) but I don't earn a very high wage as I work term-time only. This is why I am trying to be much more careful about my money as I ran my debt up by not budgeting properly for household bills and having too many outgoings etc.
I'm vowing to never use my credit card again except in real emergencies. So, any 'spare' money I have am trying to save so that I do have a back up when those unexpected events occur.
Anyway, sorry to ramble - just wanted to say well done of your achievements so far :T0 -
Many thanks ALi007 and Ozzyfan  Will have alook at these when i get home tonight
hey Debbycatz welcome to the DFW Board  and thanks for the comments about my diary
Basically thats what i try and do in terms of dividing my money up weekly. It helps cos even if you run out of money 2 days before the week ends then u know u only got to wait another couple of days before u can use the weekly allowance you have allocated yourself for the next weekSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
