Sorry, I have to clarify, the bank charges i hope to sue for are for returned Direct Debits and cheques and exeeding my overdraft NOT for the acount charge as you may have thought. Nothing I can do about that unfortunately.

from my days in student halls carting clothes back and forth to the launderette, those big blue ikea bags that you use instead of baskets but can buy at the tills were great for all dirty clothes.

have you given any thought as to what you will do with all your 'spare' money once you are debt free? nothing like having a goal to motivate you to work harder ;)

Once all my debts are cleared i really want to start saving for a deposit on my own place because i live with mate and his girlfreidn and i wont be able to do that forever....so my big aim is to save a nice big deposit ona flat or house.:j

One of the first things I did when I got my Money Diet book for Xmas was go to the bank (LloydsTSB) and ask what I was getting for my £10 per month current account charge and £7 per month Budget account charge. I was getting lots of perks but I wasn't using any, downgraded both account to classic account and kept both overdrafts - both over £1000!! They are still laughing cos i pay such high interest on my overdraft but I am now saving £17 per month - felt sick when I worked out what i'd paid them unnecessarily!! Hope to get the overdrafts down when I sue them for bank charges for the last 6 years. Bit scary that one but I'm looking into it!!! Will be over £900 if i'm successful. See the bank charges - illegal? thread. Hope this is of some help, let me know if I have been unclear.

Hopefully will resolve this monthly fee today in my lunch break and save myself over £100 a year because in all honesty i have no idea how long ive been paying for the "perks" that i never use

I'm hoping my year is going to be like that. Hoping to pay £3k off my overdrafts (moved to 0% egg card) and I was in a car accident over xmas so hopefully will get some money from the scumbag driver who caused the accident which'll go to my debts :grinheart

    Well done James .......
