ive just spent the whole day with my mates at work asking me if im coming out with them tonight for some ones leaving party............ :(

When i said i wasnt going because i was skint they were all saying " we will buy u a drink" etc, etc, i said thank u and i was grateful for there offers but i wasnt going to ponce..... :o

today unfortunatley was pay day and i was trying to be good and not come out they were all saying its only one drink, but i know if i go out for one drink then ill end up staying the night because im having such a good time :( and spending so much money and messing my planning up for the rest of the month....

Just got a txt from one of the girls at work saying wish you could have come and another saying she knows why i didnt come (shes in the same posistion as me trying to get a deposit together to buy a house and clear her debts)

So why do i now feel like !!!!!!? yes i would have loved to go out and have a good time with my mates but i feel bad for turning there offers down to buy me a drink, i said to them i was grateful for the offer and that i didnt want to ponce and they said it wasnt poncing they were offering.......

but i just didnt feel right in accepting there offer when i had money to pay for my own drinks but it would have eaten massively into my budget........

At the rate i keep turning down nights out with my friends im going to end up with them not bothering to ask me soon........... :(

Well if you can afford £20 a month for Stargate DVD's maybe you could use that for beer money instead and enjoy yourself. Debt is a drag but it doesn't have to take over your whole life mate! (coming from me, nerd number 1 :p )

    james mate

you need to budget for nights out, yes paying ur debt of is all good an well but u have to have a life. even if u budgeted for a drink down the pub once every two weeks at £20 a time thats only £40squid and now lets say u over spend by £20 thats £60 a month....hardly gonna notice that and yes obv it extends ur repayments but it stops u being !!!!!! off having to refuse people...

    or a better plan!

get a wkd job and use that moeny as going out money

or only use over time money to go out with

ok in looking at my finances this month my outgoings are as follows

    Rent: £250

    Broadband: £25

    Mobile Phone: £15.00

    Travel Card: £29.35

    Savings: £10

    Loan: £303.71

    Overdraft: £27

    Credit Card Payments: £24.47

Which means my outgoings are £684.53 so in total im left with £391.48 im going to over pay my loan by £250 which leaves me £141.48 for the month.

Ive got my brothers birthday coming up which im going to give him £10 in a card. So that leaves me with approx £130 cos ill have to buy a card as well.

im also away for a couple of days so will also be paying hotel costs so thats £20 for the day... so im left with a £110 for the rest of the month.........

Jamesy you dark horse! :rotfl:

The important thing about this is to make sure you haven't been using the credit cards!

We will have to have a vote to see whether you are still a worthy member of the nerds club! :p;)

Not that it makes any difference mate but just wondered why you never said anything before and why you are now?

Don't worry mate. You'll soon have it ALL paid off! :D
