Following on from meritaten's point about raw foods, lots of salad items make great hot or cold soups. I'm sure I once saw something on a food programme that if you eat a tiny bit of something you don't like everyday for 14 days you will lose your aversion to it - so if you persevere with a bit of salad every day you may get there!

Pity, because broccoli is a fantastic superfood and a godsend when trying to lose weight :p

Salads on their own might be healthy, but I personally don't find them filling so would probably end up eating something else later! Once you've added your Caesar dressing, bacon bits, croutons, cheese I might have to question if that counts as 'healthy'!! I do like the Caesar yoghurt based dressing given above - will be trying that one.

I like toasted sesame seeds or pine nuts in salad - don't forget boiled potatoes and green beans and capers or chopped cornichons - yum.

My fave dressing is olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and dijon mustard - shake it all together - yum again

not much time but hope that helps a bit x x

My salad today is lovely, and incredibly healthy.

    It contains:

    Chick peas
    Avocado
    Tomato
    Peas
    Sweetcorn
    Grated carrot
    Olive oil
    Lemon juice
    Black pepper

I'm trying my first real, proper, serious menu plan. I am sitting here with big notepad, a pencil, a list of what's in my freezer, and I'm stuck !:rotfl:
Here is what I have in the freezer, meat only cos I can work out the veg meself LOL...
    Lots of lamb mince
    Lots of chicken thighs
    Lots of posh sausages
Could we start with a week or is it easier to do a fortnight? Only two of us and we eat very very plain food. (OH diabetic and fussy, and I'm a rubbish cook :D)
    No pasta
    No rice
    No curry
Just old fashioned food. Does anybody think they can help? :D
