Here is the witness statement. Sent with letter 2 as evidance of mis selling.
I XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Do swear that on the 3rd October 2006, Was in the company of Mr Glenn Mark White when he went to the offices of Welcome Finance located in Crossgates Leeds.
Mr White had gone to obtain a Loan from Welcome Finance.
Mr White during his time in the office stated “he did not want to have any Insurance policy as he was a salaried member of staff and still get paid full pay even if off sick”.
I know this to be true as I was sat beside him at the time.
Your employee who was dealing with Mr White, Said open and clearly to Mr White, “If you do not take payment protection insurance with us you cannot have the loan”.
At no time did the employee state that other options for insurance were available privately or from another company.
As you may have noticed I have the same surname as Mr White. On the date 3rd October 2006 I was the girlfriend of Mr White. We have since that time Married. I am not party to his dealings with Welcome Finance in any shape or form. At this time I was only there as Mr Whites Companion.
This is a true and honest statement. Which I am willing to swear in any court in England as evidence.
Yours Truthfully
Hope that this is enough to force the issue otherwise the FOS and the FSA will be getting involved.
Game on

I quick Question and thought for you Gina. Did you have a witness prersent at the time you took your loan? Were you advised that other products were available (PPI) from other sources?
If you have a witness its no longer your word against theirs.
If were not advised I sem to see it that Welcome DID NOT do their business with you in your best interests. That is against the core principles of the FSA's guide lines. This is an issue that Welcome are going to have to deal with as I am geting in touch with the FSA to bring this to their attention. As Welcome is regulated by the FSA and if enough of Welcomes ex and current customers complain to the FSA then pressure will mount on Welcome finance and that can only help our cause for refunds of mis sold PPI. The FSA carry more weight than the FOS. As the FOS are there as intermediatarys between Company and Customer. The FSA Regulate companies so can do a lot more harm to Welcome Finance.
Anyway again if you need any help please Private message me and i will kindly help if i can. Im no solicitor or legal eagle but do have contacts in that business area. So can perhaps glean information that is helpfull.
Go for it Gina it only costs a stamp.
All the best of luck to you.

I have 2 ppi claims/loans against Welcome - but they said no to both. Went straight to FOS (and this was Feb last year) but am still waiting............Despite the wait I am still hopeful. I had one loan, then refinanced - so paid off the first took a larger 2nd. They charged PPI on both. I then did it a third time (sorry but I was cash desperate). On the 3rd no PPI was added. But when I went back and asked for a breakdown of the settlement figures of both the first 2 loans - they couldn't give it to me. I was told the 'computer' works it out. So basically I am repaying an amount that they worked out without showing me how the figure was calculated. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.......oh if I knew then what I think I know now :rotfl:
Anyway, appartently FOS are inundated and backlogged forever. I phone in every month or so just to track progress but I haven't even been assigned to anyone yet - I am somewhere in the queue, not-so patiently waiting my turn.
When and if I get a result - I will update the forum.
Best of luck to everyone else taking them on.........:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

Looking at the FSA's Website today. And the following page may be of interest to all claimants of Mis-sold PPI.....
http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pubs/other/tcf_towards.pdf
The very bottom of page 4 (example) makes very interesting reading. In fact the whole document is well worth a look especially the consumer section.
Hope this may give some help and guidance towards your claims.

My letter to Welcome has still not been delivered. Im getting a little bit nervous that Welcome may not be signing for mail at the Nottingham Compliance Dept. Keep your eyes on the Recorded delivery letters to Welcome.
Will check again tomorrow and if not delivered I will be onto the post office as my time is running out with the current complaint to them.
Onwrds and upwards.

I sent a Recorded Delivery letter on Saturday and it's still showing at my Post Office. I'll give it a few days before checking.0
