Starting a claim for PPI with Welcome Finance

Options
Hi folks ive finally got around to starting the ball rolling. I received a telephone call from Reclaim Credit. They went through some details and said i was owed in the region of £5500:00 On three unsecured loans with Welcome finance.

I telephoned Welcomes customer relationship center and verbally started the ball rolling and they are now awaiting my letter which will be sent tomorrow morning recorded delivery.

Wish me luck as i think this could take a long time to sort as Welcome aint exactly the best company to deal with.

Was told that if i didnt take out the insurance then i couldnot have the loan. And to boot if they deny that my now wife was their and heard all that they said but was not subject to loan.

    Game on :money:

  • The letter has now been dispatched to Welcome Finance and states the below........
    11 Febuary 2009
    Welcome Finance
    Iridium Court 1
    Saxon Way
    Hessle
    Hull
    HU13 9PF

    Dear Sir or Madam,
    Account number: xxxxxx&xxxxxx&xxxxxx
I purchased the above policy from you in xxxxxx&xxxxxx&xxxxxx but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following.
1,This is due to the fact that I paid a single premium for my policy but did not see it through to the end of it’s initial term after paying back my loan earlier than planned.
2,This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as
    · your salesperson implied that taking out the policy would assist my credit application.
    · your salesperson did not tell me that the policy was optional.
    · your salesperson stated that taking out the policy was essential for me to get the associated credit.
    · i am concerned the sales assistant that sold me the policy has no financial background and the policy was not sold in my best interests.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date and the wish to receive the commision that your staff received for selling the above policies. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
Reclaim Credit LTD have been in contact with myself and want to take this case on. Their solicitors have looked at the above and are stating that a claim with them will result in around £5500.00 pounds being won. I am giving you fair chance to settle with me directly as to save Welcome finance the costs of legal work undertaken by all parties concearned as Welcome will be responsable for all costs if taken to court due to mis-selling and illegal practises.
    Yours faithfully,

    Mr Glenn White.

Lets hope that lights a fire under them but doubt it will bring on round 2. :D:D:D
  • I have today checked the tracking on the letter sent to Welcome Finance in Hull. They signed for it on the 13/02/2009. So I rang to varify that the letter was in their hands. And it is not showing on the computer system. They put me through to the complaints department. The lady then looked into my account and still no letter. She said that the letters for reclaiming PPI are all sent through to Nottingham "Compliance Unit". I gave her the barcode number of the letter and she is now going to ring me today once she has investigated the letter and its location.

Already it seems the Wheels are falling off my claim. OR SO THEY THINK. If the letter is lost by them then game on I will resend direct to the Compliance Department and give them 4 weeks to respond. If no joy then Letter 2 and threats of legal action against them.

Come on Welcome BRING IT ON.

Great letter there Glenn Well done to you.:T

They still have 8 weeks even if they try to deny the fact they have not received etc, so just keep an eye on those dates here.;)

  • Yes i can tell you Di. First loan 2005 second 2005 third 2007. And I have copies of all the agreements. Welcome kindly sent me them. Good of them isnt it.

They have just rang me and they say that Legal compliance dept have not received the letter and would i send another letter to them direct. I refused stating that 1, Welcome finance have signed for delivery of the letter. 2, If welcome finance have lost the letter thats their problem not mine. 3, If i do not hear from them in the next 4 weeks then I will be taking the next steps legally to retreive Money that they have received by Illegal means.

the women was quite shocked at this and said well I hope that the legal team receive the letter ASAP.

BRING ON WELCOME FINANCE. Im more than ready, Willing and able to bring them to their knees. Both privately and in the media if needs be.

  • I will kepp all of you up to date with the situation as new letters or phome calls arise. I will help anyone who goes up against Welcome Finance if I can. But the best advice is dont go to them in the first place. I only wish someone had told me that in the beginning.

    All the best fellows claimants.

Wish you all the best with your claims.....
