They are also £110 for the R2 model if you check at Richer Sounds. I got the region-free model recently (for £130 from MK - you have to pay & display if you're thinking of going there!) and can highly recommend it.
DVD RAM is excellent when you want to watch a programme you have recorded onto a disc and also record a programme at the same time.
Usually my wife decides she wants a shower 5 minutes before her programme starts, but with DVD RAM she can start recording it, then start watching the recording when she comes out whilst it is still recording the end of it. Very handy!0 -

Cheapest place for the ES20 Region 2 model is Richer Sounds (personally don't like my local branch) if they actually have them in stock - £139.95. I would presonally recommend https://www.123electricals4me.co.uk for the multiregion version for £158.99. I got mine with 5 DVD-RAM disks thrown in - but that was to price match PRCDirect. PRCDirect no longer have stock... and neither do other suppliers I was considering so it looks like it may be getting harder to get hold of the ES20 as the ES25 is replacing it (possibly at about £250).
Another option is to get Richer Sounds to price match an online retailer - you should get it £10 cheaper than the cheapest online price you can find providing there is stock (at the price match competitor and Richer Sounds!).0 -
Someone tells me this ES25 is going to be HD ready but not have a digital tuner...surely this is wrong...is it?0

All models above the ES15 have Freeview.
See here for model details...

So - if you don't need the extra SD/HD capability now may be a good time to buy an ES200 -
I bought a Multi Region Panasonic DMRES20D from Richer Sounds in Guildford.. It was priced at £159.95.. I searched the web before i went to the store and found it cheeper at https://www.totaldigital.biz for £145.00 + £9.99 delivery..
At the store they matched the total including delivery and gave a further £10 off... So i got the box for £144.99..
Lets try and beat that!!! :T0
