    Hi,

    I have another quick question,

I'm due my Vanquis Card soon .... is there a way of knowing when the first statement will be due so I can work out the payment date ?

(ie) is the first statement calcualted from .....
when the account is opened ?
    or
When you activate the card ?
    or
When you first spend on the card ?

I want to try to capture my payment due date so that its just after when I get paid. (all bills going out at once and all !)

    Thanks for any info :D:D:D

Or ring them as all we can do is guess.....

Usually it'd be around a month after issue. But that changes! My new HSBC statement came within 12 days of getting card!

thanks for the info never-in-doubt .... I guess it is difficult to guess then.

So if i set up a direct debit with Vanquis does that mean it could go out on any day or do I get any kind of advance notice of when the DD will leave my account ?

(sorry if these questions sound 'stupid' but I really have no idea how it works :o)

I got my first statement about 2 weeks after getting the card. It will tell you on the statement when the minimum payment has to be made by (or when the DD will be taken if set up). There is normally a 3 week gap between getting the statement and payment being made.

    Hiya

Why not ring them and request a DD date that suits you! All DD's work the same, the originator will write to you 14 days before payment is due (if new or amended amount). So for a CC, like Vanquis, if they set up the DD to take on 20th July, you'll find that the DD will most probably be next due around 19th August and the one after that, 20th September! Obviously, if these dates were a weekend then they would come the following Monday.

For the small balance you plan to have on the V card, why are you stressing so much about this? Just chill.... you can, if you wanted, ring and pay over the phone and you always get at least 14 days after the statement date before any amount will come from your bank so plenty of time to ring and pay over the phone instead, if you wanted to!

    Hi All

I applied for a vanquis cc six months back and got declined with try again in six months ? Now I am a discharged BR Sept 2008 However I have had my car on finance for the last six months and have a mobile phone and mobile broadband with orange. So my credit profile isn't all doom and gloom.
Wondering in its worth applying again?

Any clues on this one please.

    Hello,

I have had a VANQUIS card for three statement months now...I had a £500 Limit to start with.

Month 1 - Spend around £200, paid off in full
    Month 2 - Spend around £400, paid off £200
    Month 3 - Spend around £200, paid off £50

When should I be due an Increase in my credit limit, any ideas anyone?

    Thanks
