I have two defaults on my report, one satisifed and one not going back to 2005. Would it be worth while applying through vanquis?0
-
I have been with vanquis for over a year now and never got a credit limit increase i have never missed a payment or anything.
You think its worth giving them a call to ask for one?0 -
No, they can't do manual reviews or increases on request. Fully automated
Have you always paid more than the minimum, stayed well within your limit, and used the card every month without exception?
Most lenders wouldn't extend an increase to customers that hover close to the credit limit a lot of the time, or those that only pay the minimum, or those that barely use the cardCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Oh... by the way quick question hope someone can help...
Noticed that my December Direct Debit will leave on Friday the 4th, and the next statement is due to be produced after that on Tuesday 8th December. The direct debit payment won't be in the account by the time the next statement is produced, given the weekend, will it? Vanquis say it doesn't matter but I don't believe them...
EDIT: Just spoke to them again... had to speak to a manager before they explained it in a way that makes sense. Vanquis will apply to my bank three working days before the direct debit is due to leave my account to make sure sufficient funds are available, this way when the direct debit actually goes through on Friday 4th December, it will credit my Vanquis account immediately.
Is this correct? Or even possible?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Spoke to Vanquis customer service twice today, once was a very rude lady who was extremely keen to get me off the phone!
The second was a chap who advised me to contact their outbound team as they required more information to continue with my application!
They really tried their best to sell me all kinds of services, but were politely refused.
Was accepted @ an APR of 59.9% but it's my only option for credit with my current situation, so am happy they are offering anything at all!
Thanks

Well done Aaron, now make sure to set up a direct debit for the full payment and only spend what you are confident you can repay in full at the end of each month.
You probably figured already but just a reminder - this isn't a card to be used for spreading the costs - just for building your credit score!

That's the way all direct debits work. They apply to the bank a few days beforehand and it is debited from your account and credited to their account on the same day.0 -
Not at all. I purchase things on my credit cards all the time and pay it off a few days later.
As for the limit increases.. it is important not to miss any payments or go over your credit limit, doing that could jepordise any increases Vanquis may plan to give you. Manage your account well and hopefully there will be many increases in the future.
Iv spent my limit and only paying the minimum every month, i doubt ill be getting an increase, lol'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -

You're choosing to pay their astronomical interest rates!?!?
Please do yourself a favour and start clearing it in full each month. You'll save a bomb on interest, and be more likely to be given a card with a higher limit elsewhere if Vanquis increase your limitCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
