thanks to everyone who posted on here this morning and well done for sharing your thoughts. I was a bit reluctant to post this morning knowing there is a recent new thread with a fancy new name.
Me I prefer this, so please keep posting and be good to yourselves. Sssssss0 -
Ahhh, Honey, so you’re travelling with me on the Hammersmith and City line….
What am I on about? Well, on the London Underground some of the lines are partly on the surface and partly underground. Sometimes you travel through light and are in sunshine, trees and flowers, other times it is bare, deep tunnel walls with no light to be seen at either end. I think of my depression as being like travelling on one of those lines.
Like any journey it has stops and starts and can feel as if you have no control over it, even if you are the driver! Sometimes I reach and get to stop for a while at one of my favourites, can feel the sun, see the trees and smell the flowers, I love those stops. Sometimes the train stops in the deepest part of a tunnel. It is dark and miserable and all I want to do is get off permanently at one of the dark, dismal stations. But if I get off the train there then I won’t see the next station, which might be one of the good ones.
Your medical team are the train staff and your medication is the fare you pay. Some tickets work better than others, if the one you have is taking you through too much of the miserable bit of the line, ask the staff for another ticket.
Please don’t ever forget that this really is a journey and you are travelling along, even if it doesn’t feel like it some times. There really are better stops just a little further along the line. It took me a long time to believe it myself, but thanks to the train staff, I eventually found out for myself that it was true. You will too.
xxxMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

hi la-cara, how are you, josh is fine today, thanks for asking, his hands are bruised from where he covered his head to protect himself.
today is an inset day for both boys, so i'm taking them into town later, for a haircut, and providing they behave, taking them to a lovely chinese restaurant, that does a lunch time special, 3 courses for £5.50.
have a good day all
hugs

Glad to hear josh is doing well. Enjoy your day in town with the boys!

poor josh, is he very angry? or just hurt? hope you both are ok today, my daughter who doesnt live with me anymore, has had a terrible 18 months and ran into real bad probs last year. her psychiatrist told me it went back to when she was six! her and i were both bullied really badly where we lived and in her case at school. it makes me so angry that people dont realise how upsetting these things can be for kids. its not just kids that are nasty some people are just sh*ts ! we cant control everything that happens but we can control how we react and can minimise the damage. big cuddles to you and josh xx
ps - just a thought but i would hope the other boys mother feels as bad as you. it must be awful to have a child behave this way:rotfl:"that grady! won't sit next to a black child in church! but eats eggs, shoot right out a chickens !!!!!!" from fried green tomatoes:rotfl::smileyheaMSE is where my friends live :smileyhea0 -

I also find watching TV difficult since my depression and have taken to reading lots and lots of books. Nothing heavy, I enjoy thrillers and find great comfort from picking up my book.0 -
books and hot chocolate, staying warm, a long bath, my bed, my dog, fresh tuna and noodles, old movies, my laptop, remembering when i was wee and it was warm outside. last but not least my babies and my oh so smart-ar**d , laughable loveable hubby. this is my list. just thinking about it cheers me up whats yours??:rotfl:"that grady! won't sit next to a black child in church! but eats eggs, shoot right out a chickens !!!!!!" from fried green tomatoes:rotfl::smileyheaMSE is where my friends live :smileyhea0
