Transfer to natwest e-ISA

...I have one of these Natwest E-ISA's and I'm wondering what options are open to me in terms of making a withdrawal?
I thought that one of the conditions of having a NatWest eISA was that you needed a NatWest Current Account in order to manage it(?) - if you didn't already have one then they would open one for you? I may be wrong on that, but your eISA would need to be 'linked' to a current account somehow I would have thought? How do you make a payment into the eISA?
As it happened I already had a NatWest Current Account and can make instant internal transfers/withdrawals into it from the eISA (but not payments directly to external accounts). From the NW Current Account I can then make external withdrawals.0 -
The condition was to have a current or saving account but this was just to transfer accidental overpayments into - you can withdraw money from your eISA into any account but you'll need one of those Natwest Dual authentication calculator things - they take upto 15 days to arrive if you chose not to have one when you opened your account.
I did the same thing without realising that you needed them to get money out.0 -

Really? I have "one of those Natwest Dual authentication calculator things" and I cannot make a withdrawal/payment directly from my eISA into any account. If I choose to make a 'payment', my eISA simply does not appear in the list of accounts from which to make the payment (only my NW current account and NW eSavings account appear in the list).
All I can do with my eISA is to do an internal transfer into my other NW accounts. (Which does not require the NW calculator thing-a-ma-bob.)0 -

I opted to open a First Reserve Savings Acc rather than a Natwest current account as I was quite happy with my existing currect account with A+L.
So am I right in thinking I could withdraw money from my E-ISA electronically by first transferring it into the First Reserve Acc which would then allow me to transfer it to an external account using the gadget you refer to above?0 -

I've just rang Natwest and answered my own question. According to the 3 seperate advisors I spoke to none of the savings accounts in the Natwest range give you the option to do an exteral transfer to a non Natwest current account. That includes the e-savings account.
So that leaves me with 2 options....Either open a Natwest current account purely to enable me to make this one transaction or go into a branch and make a withdrawal in cash. The withdrawal I want to make is for over 10k. Needless to say I don't fancy walking out of the door with that kind of cash on me.
All in all on pretty stumped on this one!!!0 -
Canny_mal - just wondering if you can do it the other way around and make the payment request from your A&L account rather than the other way? You would still need to move the money out of the ISA into the savings account and I don't know if it is possible but might workThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Thanks for the suggestion Dustykitten but I've had a look on my at my A+L current account online and you can only transfer funds out, not in0 -

Well, for the record (and as mentioned above), I do have a NW eSavings account and from that account I CAN make external withdrawals! In branch they might be able to do this transfer for you - without you actually having to handle any cash?! Or may be telephone banking?! FYI, there is a 10K limit for payments made online with NW (or at least there used to be).0 -

Yes sorry - thats what I was trying to say (badly!) you should be able to transfer to either the savings account or the current account then use the calculator thing to make external withdrawls. I've not tried it yet because I needed the money quicker than they could get the calculator thing to me so I borrowed the money off my mom in the end instead!0 -
