What were they before the drop? (Or is the first drop since the rates as given in May 2009?)0 -
This is the first drop for those who opened their ISAs before the cutoff date of 14 MayThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Ah I see... they've introduced a middle tier in their interest rates (£10,000 - £29,000) and effectively lowered the rates (by 0.25%) of this and the bottom tier (£0 - £9,999). The previous (top) rate is still available but only to those who fall in the top tier (£30,000+). Scoundrels!
I thought the banks should inform you when interest rates change? (I had heard nothing!?)0 -
I saw it on another thread on here WhiteSpace but thought I'd put the link on this thread in case people are subscribed to it so hopefully will see it. I think they have to publish the changes in certain newspapers but I could be wrong. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Isn't in better transferring to another ISA provider now?

And NatWest have got it wrong surely. The middle band should be £10,000 to £29,999. The change was published in the Daily Telegraph (business pages) on the day of the change - 4th September.0
