I was looking at the site a little eariler, it makes mention of a £10 off code this would bring the price down. It is on the actual page.

    Valueflora.com 12 Red Roses

I ordered from Asda in the end as it was a courier on the day. Added a teddy bear too :D

    Hope that helps.

I own a flower shop, and all I can really say to all of you who will have delivery problems and quality issues with the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer is. SERVES YOU RIGHT, but maybe you’ll support your local businesses next year.

Supermarkets are muscling in on all the smaller traders in the ‘High Street’. They cherry pick the lucrative things to do, and do them cheaper and that’s what closes the independent trader. It has been shown by the number of complaints on here that in some instances purchasing on price isn’t best practise.

Fortunately because Florists do provide more of a service they have lasted the onslaught for longer. If you don’t use them and they all go to the wall who will be left to do what the supermarkets aren’t interested in? Like your funeral flowers or your Wedding flowers?

When you buy these cheap bouquets, all your buying is cheap roses. As Tesco have illustrated their ‘Finest’ roses are the same price as everyone elses.

Quite agree... I'm glad someone else thinks along these lines because I got verbally battered for expressing similar, though it must be said, less well backed up views, in a discussion time thread.
Like a priceless jewel buried in dark layers of soil and stone, earth radiates her brilliant beauty into the caverns of space and time.

Stately trees seem to brush the deep blue sky. Clouds billow to form magestic peaks. The songs of birds fill the air creating symphony upon symphony
  • Am I the only woman who HATES roses? Overblown and TOO obvious.
Give me a hand tied bouquet of pink and white tulips any day.

Now there is a proper MSE tip - and at least £10 cheaper!

Oh my word. It's a good job my wife's out this morning a her roses have arrived from Valueflora.

Less than half of what was ordered, and a message card which looks as though it was created by a 5 year old with celotape. It's really not good enough even after the QUIDCO savings and Discount code (final price £29.99).

Anyone else received theirs from Valueflora?

Here you go... £30 of flowers...

Anyway dleafe, how obvious should I not be, being married?

**EDIT - Here's the finely printed card too (using a seventies card design, a badly cut out strip of text and some celotape!) Unbelievable.

Sorry the photos aren't very clear, I'm using my phone as the camera's on charge.

"Two Dozen Roses with 50g Chocolates" I got 11 red roses and some tatty looking bulking flowers. Oh, and let's not forget the playschool message card.

Also, they don't provide a customer services number on their site, so I've just had to email them.

The OG has just been clipping the stems and noticed that a lot of the flowers had some sortof fungus/disease on their underleaves...

Not sure whether it's very clear (as using phone camera), but there's brown diseased lumps on the undersides...

If they were getting God reviews I'd be very happy with that ;)

I've been having a good look around online today, but am still undecided about what to order, or if I should just try locally on Monday / Tuesday... Does anyone know what a "Calyso Red" (could it be Calypso?) rose looks like?

    Thanks,
