It is now 21.2.2006 I haven't had any mail since 30.1.2006. I live in West Belfast. Is anyone else still not receiving mail?0

I am totally !!!!!! off. I sent approx. 10 ebay packages the day before the strike kicked off. During the dispute, I emailled all my buyers giving the link to the BBC news story. Now I am getting emails day after day from my buyers stating that the strike is over - where are their goods? I've told them all about the 7 million items backlogged and have advised that they should be on the way but they are simply not happy with me. My 100% feedback is going out the window!! Grrrr0

Oddly, I've received a few things but not others that should have been delivered earlier as they were posted much earlier. But there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, so I expect there is just a big bin of stuff in a sorting office with people picking things out at random at the moment!
The annoying thing is not knowing whether any items (esp recorded/special deliveries) might have been returned to sender after non-delivery. I have about a dozen orders for DVDs, CDs and electronic goods which were despatched around February 4 to 9 and they all seem to be in limbo. Damn right I'll be claiming for those.
It also doesn't help that my postie stuck two 'sorry you weren't in' cards in two days through my letter box (today and yesterday) when I was in and he didn't knock or ring the bell. Yesterday I assumed he had but I just hadn't heard him but today I heard the card coming through the letterbox as I was in the next room with the door open.
Not sure what he'd have to gain by saving about 10 seconds of getting the clipboard out and waiting for me to sign, but it annoyed me so I made a complaint about it anyway.
I've a horrible feeling that my normally helpful postman has been moved or has quit and some other temp is doing his deliveries but doesn't care how badly they're carried out.
Thankfully both items were at Tomb Street today so I wasn't having to chase them too much but it's still a pain in the !!!!!!.0 -
And now, theres the possibility of another strike.. Aghhhh. I'm trying to consider whether to post an application for a visa - haven't quite worked out all the info for it so can't just post it tomorrow.....
So is this new strike warning due to the postmen not being allowed to do overtime and get paid overtime to get rid of the backlog they created?
It's hard to be sympathetic...0 -
So what is the latest news?
Got items waiting to arrive that I have sent to an Irish Bidder on ebay. Dealt with him before and he knows the problems but still ...0 -

But its the length of time in the embassy dealing with my visa and getting it back to me! Still I suppose it should give me the incentive to quickly get my details sorted!0
