At least there has been one positive thing to come out of this strike - my grandfather had been on a waiting list for a cataract operation but got a phone call to come in today as someone else had cancelled as a result of not getting their appointment card in time.

He was back home within three hours of getting the call.

    :-)

My thoughts are with all those who have missed out on other things but I'm glad at least some good has come out of it for someone.

PS Someone was asking whether they could just collect their mail from the sorting office. It's possible but you might well get only one or two items from very early in the strike. That's what happened to me.
In practice, there is such a big backlog that a lot hasn't even been sorted yet and won't be until people go back to work.

anyone know if parcelforce are also striking, or just royal mail? (i know it's the same company basically, but not quite)

i think i may (or may not, as the case may be!) supposed to be on the receiving end of some flowers today

No you are not the only one!
I am getting really peeved off with it. I sold a load of stuff on Ebay and have been unable to get it to my buyers cos of it!! I keep sending my buyers emails with the BBC link but I think I'm going to end up with some negative feedback! Not happy at all!!
Is it ever going to end??!!
  • severly ****** off with them.

ME too, people are getting annoyed but I have clearly stated there is nothing I can do.
Am annoyed as wanted to list some more stuff as extra cash is always handy.

Dont forget to call gas and electric companies etc because these bills are due soon and will still need paid even if not delivered.

We are going for day 16 tomorrow and no post, think I could get a p/t job sorting the mail, no one else there seems to want to do it.
