Bank of Scotland / Halifax - Faster Payments

Just my experience on Faster Payments and Halifax.

Well annoyed - April 5th I wanted to take some money from Halifax to Barclays to put in a new ISA - total over £3k.

I made the transfer on Halifax site and it gives me option of next day to do the transfer - ok I set it up. Had to wait another 3 working days to see the money in my Barclays accounts.

The £500 transfer limit for faster payment which seems to be the issue here seems unique to Halifax as before I have moved more than £500 to Halifax from Barclays and its been done instantly.

Sort it out Halifax - or I keep sticking my money in other banks.

Grr.. Not been able to get a FP payment out of HBoS for nearly two weeks. been trying - daily - various amounts, to various institutions that receive FP, but no success.. Wonder if the buyout by Lloyds has made them also turn off FP...

This is a new one: To-day, the system indicated to me (as described in #44) that the payment would go out via FP. AFTER I submitted the payment, I was presented with the following message:

The Faster Payment service is unavailable. Please, use our bill payment service instead.

At that point no payment had been initiated.

Don't just click, click, click. Read every screen very carefully!

At 4am, I made my final £500 faster payment from Tesco to my Halifax Regular saver and it was received within minutes as expected.

I then made another FP payment from my Tesco a/c to my wifes HX Regular and I am still waiting for it to show up after nearly 6 hours! I know the bank details are correct because I've already made 10 previous faster payments sucessfully.

I reckon Halifax have a problem - sent them 3 payments via FP, nothing turned up yet, and the monthly CA reward payments are not in either

I have also tried to send faster payments from HBOS today and they won't go, even though they are accounts I've paid before. Hope they can correct this soon.

From the bank statement:

The Reward Payment will be paid into your account before the 10th of each month.

In March and April they showed up on the second working day of the month, backdated to the 1st. So I wouldn't expect to see it until Monday (or possibly tomorrow), but with today's date.

FP not working here from Halifax either, only the second time since they started FP that they've refused me!

As Monday is a bank holiday, that might not be until Tuesday.
