It defines Services as Network and other Services, including Orange additional Services, provided or procurred by us.

And from what they say when you phone it is an additional service that Oraneg are providing about the minutes whenever you phone CS
Instead of getting wrapped up in the contractual small print, why not just complain to Orange anyway and at least register some displeasure with Ofcom. If enough people do it Orange will change their tune even if they don't have to contractually, especially if they think there's a change that the lack of service will be further publicised.

Incidentally, the service is at least back on line now for me... although my balance was still only last updated on the 30th of Jan. Brilliant... my new month starts on the 10th!

You can complain online via the link below. It's very quick, just click on the Action Link:

I did just that: Ref 26291xx

    Thanks oranabana.

Still no service as of 12/02/06

Customer service are still giving this BS about the system is down, so you cant find out your remaining minutes. Strangely, they can still send out bills ... funny that!

optional is just a get out for them. they know it is a part of the service that customers rely on a lot. i mean it is the first thing you are asked about when you phone 150.

Well it is a get out for me 2. Contract due to end soon - will cancel at 12 month point and tell them why!
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!

F.A.O. Anyone wanting to end their Orange Contract.

I think anyone who is part way through their contract with Orange and wants to end it prematurely, this would be an ideal 'get out'.

Worth a try me thinks

I'm in a ridiculous situation at the moment where I'm reluctant to use my Orange contract phone incase I'm out of inclusive mins and being charged 35p a min. So I'm using a PAYG sim at 15p per min. When Orange finally get their act together and I get my bill, how will I feel if I had UNUSED mins all along

Your previous advice about Ofcom's role and position is open to question, and so is the suggestion that people cancel the contract, without very carefully considering the Terms and Conditions, and any cashback terms that may apply to them.

Please clarify that this is your opinion, not a result received from Ofcom.

Correct it's my opinion and not advice from Ofcom. Anyone is able to take up their dispute with Orange and ultimately cancel their contract if they are not happy with the service.

As with any dispute over contractual obligations you should take legal advice before canceling a contract you have entered into. Appologies if this was not clear from my previous post.
