I'd second the aluminium foil idea! Or leave it in cola for 15 mins then scrub it gently. I'd use a cotton bud for crevices to make sure I didn't scratch it. cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

Someone must have an OS tip for this! I have a necklace which has had a stone come out and I need to take it into repair, but the clasp and around the other stones is dirty and I'd be ashamed to take it in like that. Its too fiddly to clean with a pin so is there anything OS I can soak it in that won't damage the silver?
Thanks

Hi Skint_Catt,
I use warm soapy water and a toothbrush to clean jewellery and it doesn't damage the metal.
This older thread should help:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep all the suggestions together.

Coca-cola.
Dont think it'll damage it. Just leave it to soak overnight.0 -
I did think about that as I'm sitting here drinking a can of it, lol.0

I was going to suggest coke but would be wary if the jewellery was valuable - might it be too abrasive?0

It's Swarovski, so I'd rather be safe than sorry but cola can't do too much harm can it - especially as its drinkable! :rotfl:0
