I see the Daily Wail readers are at a loose end again ... imagine suggesting that someone has an abortion, that's just bloody ridiculous.
This is not what the Benefit board is about. I hope a Mod cleans this thread up.0 -
I would suggest that our benefit system didn't encourage people to have numerous children that they have no means of supporting. We have the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Europe. We need to get rid of the system that encourages a sense of entitlement but no sense of responsibility for ones actions.
There is a big difference between the educated middle class who have lost their jobs and those who have chosen welfare dependency as a life style choice.
I know it is hard to get a job at the moment, but that is hardly relevant to women with numerous children who have never worked and don't want to work.
Food shortages are a global problem. If the world population keeps increasing the planet will not be able to support us all. This country imports a large percentage of its food. China is already buying up agricultural land in Africa because it is aware of the global situation.
In many ways over population is more of a problem for the developed world as we consume far more natural resources and cause more damage to the environment.
This is a small country with an ever increasing population - birth rates have increased in the last few years.
What we need is a welfare policy (phased in gradually) which encourages people who cannot provide for children not to have them. For exmple not increasing benefits every time a woman has yet another child.
I would never suggest imposing abortion on anyone.0 -

My teenage daughter found herself pregnant. We talked about her options. One of which was abortion. What is wrong with considering all options?0 -

This has nothing to do with benefit entitlements. I've reported the thread to moderation.0 -

Krisskross the OP is pregnant , and no doubt, considered her, as you like to say " options "
As for paying tax , are you seriously saying that someone recieving benefit is better off than a solicitor http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cms/ShowPage/Home_page/Explore_types_of_jobs/Types_of_Job/p!eipaL?state=showocc&idno=393&pageno=2
Anyone who reads your posts knows your "anti" , anything to do with benefit claims , but , you drag your opinion onto every thread you get the chance to ..
The OP simply asked for some advice , not a lecture :rolleyes:0 -

Abortion is a genuine consideration and definitely money saving.
No, of course no-one should in any way be co-erced to do this PROVIDED THEY CAN LOOK AFTER THE RESULT OF THEIR OWN 'ACTIVITY'.
And even then I would modify my own comment and say anyone can make a mistake and need help, but to make the SAME mistake again and sometimes even again?:eek:0 -
