be vary wary of quinn direct. i have just got a quote for my 17 year old daughter driving a corsa breeze 973cc R reg. Car value about £700.

As a provisional driver the price is £478 third party F&T and £781 fully comp. but putting in she has a full licence changes it to third party £1579 fully comp £3648. those increases are barking. they obviously suck in inexperiences drivers with their low prices and then when the poor things ring up full of joy to say they have passed their test they will really get a shock.

this behaviour is disgusting and is exploiting youngsters who struggle hard enough to get on the road.
we are going with direct line in the end who are quoting 950 fully comp with no increase when test is passed.

Just like to bump this for my own ends, I'd be grateful of recommendations please. I'm 32 and hoping to pass my test in the next 2 months. I really can't afford to spend over £1000 - any advice would be appreciated. I know nothing about cars so please feel free to patronise!

Not read all the posts, can't be bothered lol. But for me TPFT is always cheaper than TPO. Do check as there's no point in paying more for less cover.

Hi - I'm hoping to pass my test in the next few months and wondered what sort of car would be best for cheap insurance just to get me up and running. A few people have mentioned Micras - any other suggestions? It will have to be third party as I haven't driven before. Cheers.

Group one cars here according to Parkers

some good uns in this group - consider Ford Fiesta, Skoda Fabia, Toyota Yaris, VW Fox, Vauxhall Corsa

Unfortunately it's not always as simple as insurance group 1 = cheapest insurance. Only way to be certain is to get quotes.
