Orchid V4, V4+ Programing Tool Support

I have two V4 Orchid diallers - one with the power supply and also the lesser model without. If anyone would like either of these, pm me with an offer. I'm only getting rid of them because I have signed up to an all-in-one package with broadband and free 24/7 calls.
Hopefully i haven't contravened and forum regulations - if so, I'll take this to eBay.

Someone must be reading these posts!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=ORCHID+V4+PLUS+LCRTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
And I'm asking £20 for mine including shipping and it was turned down by an interested party as too expensive! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've had my Orchid V4 for many years and, looking to adjust the routing table, discovered this forum. I had no idea there was such an excellent tool as the spreadsheet.
I've got a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7, and I've had a quick blast thro' the posts in this topic. I'd really appreciate some back-to-basics guidance:
1. Can I use any (cheap?) USB modem to talk to the V4?
2. Is it then just a case of altering the Excel table to suit my needs, saving it, and then pressing the Dial Carrier Code Table button, and, after that has gone through, pressing the Dial Routing Tables button on the top of the spreadsheeet. (And the Set Time button as required.)?
Many thanks

1. Yes
2. Yes (but I'd recommend using the **#0000*2222*6 and **#0000*1111*6 'clear all' sequences before doing so).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Sincere thanks for your kind help and patience. I look forwards to programming the V4 using the Excel package, which looks like a much easier system than the old CWClient, and infinitely better than the bodge-up we were left with when CWClient ended.

However, the drawback is you cannot then 'see' how your V4 is programmed - so I'd recommend carefully storing a printout.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. How do I override the dialler for the odd call through BT? Last couple of bills, I've been charged for caller id as I haven't made enough call via BT.0

Use a 121 prefix.
The quick way is to use that prefix to dial a geographical number for the speaking clock (02070431320) at the weekend (when 02 calls are inclusive on BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan). Dial that twice in quick succession (about 10 seconds per call to ensure it's answered) and that's the job done.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thanks Heinz.
I noticed today when made a telephone call to a landline number that I must have my weekend calls routed via 18185.
Would it be better to have them routed via BT & if so, can the change be made manually?0
