It sounds like you haven't entered your own STD code in cell C29 and then clicked into cell D29 before clicking on the 'Dial Single Table Entry' at the top right. If you are programming manually, enter your own STD code in cell C29 and then key in the programming string shown in cell D29.
Similarly, you need to click into cell D25 before clicking on the 'Dial Single Table Entry' at the top right (tells your Orchid what BT considers to be a weekend). If you are programming manually, key in the programming string shown in cell D25.
I'd recommend you also change cell C17 from 06 to 07 and cell C19 from 18 to 19 and then click into cell D20 before clicking on the 'Dial Single Table Entry' at the top right (tells your Orchid what BT considers to be an evening). If you are programming manually, change cell C17 from 06 to 07 and cell C19 from 18 to 19 and then key in the programming string shown in cell D20.
Finally, don't forget to program the time/day/date. I always use the manual method - the procedure is shown HERE.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Afternoon Heinz,
Good to see you're still helping out here as the unofficial Orchid Dialler support person!
Just a quick question today. I just checked our bills online and noticed that calls after 6pm, which should be routed through Primus, appear to now be going through 18185 which is for the daytime calls. I'm assuming the time isn't working on the dialler and can reset it with the spreadsheet but was wondering why it would have lost the time setting all of a sudden in the last week? Do the diallers get their power from the line itself and, if so, why do they not forget the rules as well? Or do they?!
Thanks for any info!0 -
If yours is a V4+ (with the separate mains power supply) loss of the time/day/date certainly should not have happened unless you have unplugged it from the mains and from the phone line simultaneously (mains power is supposed to back up the line power and vice versa).
OTOH, if yours is a standard V4, unless you have unplugged the V4 from the phone line, only loss of line power could have caused that (and who knows what BT get up to when we're not using the phone?).
BTW, I use the manual method for updating the time/day/date on my V4s - I find it quicker than messing about connecting up the laptop.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thanks Heinz.
Just checked and I don't have the power supply version of the V4, something I should look at getting possibly!
Answered my own question about why the time gets lost but not the routing tables as they are static data whereas the time could be anything! I'll do the manual update as you say as digging the netbook & modem out, plus getting it to work, will take a while!0 -

I meant to just get a power supply, not the actual unit, or is that not possible? Do the standard V4 not have the socket?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Just had a look and the model on the back actually states V4 Plus, so I must have bought the version with the power supply. Somewhere in this house there is a psu sitting in a box, unfortunately I don't know where or which one it is!0

So, yours does have the socket for the 12v external supply.

I remember seeing one in a white box which I never knew what it belonged to, I bet it's that one! Just to find it now!
Thanks for your help.0
