That sounds like the use of prefix codes like 18185 is barred on Primus (line rental).
Try manually dialling an 01 number with a 18185 prefix - doing so will override the dialler anyway so you'll instantly be able to tell whether Primus (line rental) is barring the prefix or whether your V4 has packed up.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Was wrong - there must have been an issue with 18185, or Primus - as it has suddenly started working both dialling direct and via the V4.
Thanks for the help Heinz!0 -
I too have the V4 re-router but sadly am a 'wrinkly' these days and not 'clued-up' on the likes of 'spread-sheets' and this method of re-programming my V4. I have been using the manual method (##**day/date/time etc etc) to programme following the putting the clocks back. Now BT are adjusting their time to 7pm what 'manual' action (if any) do myself and other non computer literates need to do (in laymans language) to bring our V4's up to date please ?0

To program daytimes, key: ***hhmmhhmm*5
So, for 7am to 7pm key: ***07001900*50 -
Thanks but I am not into 'manually programming' my V4 - my capabilities are limited to simply updating the summer/daylight saving time changes - not in to changing the routings etc etc following the superb auto-update service we had for all those years - 'Heinz' was our soul-mate in those days on the change-over to manual programming. I am still on the original V4 programme and am wondering if circumstances have changed since then that requires an update (like the BT extra hour for instance) that I may have not been aware of. Am afraid I am one who needs simple instructions of 'press this key and press that key' if any programming is required - sorry !0

You just punch the sequence I gave you into your handset as you do when you manually input the daylight savings changes.
(You cannot do separate day/night times if you use different carriers who have different day/night times)0 -
Is there a new link to the spreadsheet?0

The BT change to peak 7am to 7pm is only coming into effect on the 1st April 2010.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
