Only an EEA/CH passport entitles you to enter the UK (or indeed, any Member State) without being subject to immigration control

someone could have a non EEA passport, with a permanent resident stamp in it from the UK

I have just bought a return trip Faro/Glasgow which was billed in euros. I paid with my Nationwide flexicard as I don't have a Visa Electron. I have checked my NW statement and I have been billed in £. I think that Ryanair have applied Dynamic Currency Convertor to my transaction and, if so, I shall consider complaining to NW and Visa. I have looked at Ryanair website and I can see nothing about this. Does anybody know if anything about DCC appears in the small print?

I assume it's cos passenger numbers and revenue have fallen enough to make the route unviable. Simple enough really. It seems they're cutting back quite a bit at the moment, perhaps sensibly but understandably annoying for some. Valencia, Shannon and Liverpool are the worst hiy so far.

Did you click on the 'see amount in other currencies' link? I was billed in pounds when I did this but all other times I've paid in euros.

As far as I remember I did not but as there is a possibility I'll let it go.

  • My partner was booking flights to Ryanair - because he was flying from Stansted but coming back to Luton they had to be booked as separate flights. He was booking one on his PC and I was looking at the other one on my PC.
Since I had all teh details on mine I carried on booking the flight for him in his name.
When it came to pay, because it was a flight from Italy to the UK the amount was showing in EUROS and the payment option did not include a Maestro card. So I thought I'll stick it on my Visa. I did so and when I entered my credit card details and confirmed the flights I got the booking reference back and the passenger name had been changed from his name to MINE!!!???

I rang them up (at £1 per minute!) and they said that I must have clicked the autofill in the address details and so it change dthe name (without warnign me as it was on a separate page or at the top of the page) and therefore charged me an extra 10 euros to change the name back.

CAN THEY DO THIS? It seems very wrong, it is different from changing the name on a ticket as it was obviously a mistake!!!!???

    many thanks!

    Claudia
