triker - how did you get on with the doctor?

mrsm ordinary candle will do. have just looked up Kim and Aggie's book and they suggest "to remove fingermarks from wallpaper, dab firmly with a chunk of white bread"!!!!!! You have to be very carefully and not rub wallpaper too hard or you will remove the top layer (I speak from experience here!) Hop some of the others might come up with some more ideas!

I'm not really sure if I qualify for a star cos I haven't done quite a bit of the list, but have written the reasons next to them why I didn't do them. Just in case: :D I'm really pleased with what I've done. I moved all of DH's stuff which completely covered the table - I put it into piles and cleaned the rest of the table, and then got a bit carried away and wiped all the cupboard doors in the kitchen and the walls next to the cooker where oil splatters out. Not really sure if it's done any good, any ideas how to get oil out of paint?

Toots - well done for helping the old lady, we need more neighbourly people like you around. I'm sure she was really relieved that someone was willing to help her. :A
Toochoosey - sounds like you are too choosey! :rotfl: Only kidding, I'm going to look at the curtain website to see if they have some fabric to put on the end of my new curtains to make them longer

Sexy - I know the match thing works in the bathroom! Had never thought of using it for other aromas, will have to try that.

Was quite surprised to hear Jeremy Paxman say on University Challenge that he wanted to cry when one team kept buzzing in with the wrong answers. He has a heart after all! :rotfl:

Tonights menu is creamed sock, served with dishcloths and assorted clothes. Oh no, that's just what I shoved in the WMs gob, not DH's! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've responded to the headhunter... after a bit of thinking I've decided thanks but no thanks. The role included having to do your own project management (isn't that what project managers were invented for  ) and needing to have the technical knowledge to implement tools & databases... erm... no... I can tell you what you need, and how it needs to work, but I'm not about to get into the nitty gritty of how to get the thing to function  . Plus I think the role is with one of my suppliers who has a no-poaching clause (which specifically identifies me as someone they can't poach!).

Just need to get the application form for the other role and start filling it in, slowly and painfully... and then that'll be another thing off the list!

Mrs M - I tried all these things with fish last time I cooked it. If you cooked it in the oven, wipe the oven out with vinegar (this works for getting rid of the smell of cleaning chemicals too... Pitlanepiglet may find it useful after this evening's efforts ;)). But for everything else, you've done what you can and will just need to air the house thoroughly tomorrow. That's why I only cook fish on Fridays so I know I have the whole weekend ahead to get rid of the smell  . Matches/candles are better for dealing with gasses (which is why they're used in the loo :D ).

I've done tonnes and can't be bothered writing it all out! Will amend list tomorrow. Someone pick me off the floor....dh has just come down and told me he's phoned round insurance companies and saved £150 on car / house insurance. I'm in shock!!

DS has just been down. His skin is like sandpaper again so i've moistured him and given him calpol to get rid of the stinging. Hopefully we've caught it before he gets full blown excema again. Poor little mite!! I found a photograph of him after his first eye op earlier...the one that went wrong. Had a good cry and now i'm ok. Only found the photo because i was decluttering!!

Glass of wine and bed for me xx
