But I'm off to bed. I'm now cold. I turned the heating off about 3 hours ago out of spite? No out of the fact my home was still warm. It's now not so the sensible thing to do is snuggle under the covers with the dog at the bottom of the bed keeping my feet warm.

    Gawd - I really am a grumpy old woman/parsimonious b*tch tonight....

Dusty - once again - have a lovely holiday and a fabulous birthday

    Night night all

Blimey, you lot have been busy today!

I've been to ik*a and have lots to do tomorrow

soappie - tell them you've seen my bills, I pay £20 a month for a three bedroom house for both gas & electricity, so they can pay the rest ;). Have you thought about moving the controller for the heating into your room and locking the door :D . Are all areas of the house shared, or are some of them just yours? Could you submeter part of the house (you can get lovely pound coin meters, and set the unit price yourself!). And is the heating on a timer? Mine only comes on 5.30-6.30 am and 10-10.30pm unless I'm not flying hard enough :rotfl:

Happy birthday and happy holidays to Dusty!

Sexymouse - that was a lovely thing to do. Thanks.

soappie - I forgot to mention, the friend I went shopping with has a whole lot of furniture that they're looking to sell very cheaply. I'm not sure exactly where you are located, but they have family in Bournemouth, so could take it there for transfer if your DD was interested. I've asked them to let me have a list, photos and details of how much they want for it, so you can see whether its a viable option, but it looks like they've got a sofa, coffee table, sideboard, TV cabinet and probably a few other bits that I couldn't see in amongst the building works!

Off to get myself ready for bed... must put the kettle on for my hot water bottles as it's not very warm sitting here :o

Just moving my list to the fore, so I can stop keep tracking back and reading all the posts.:rotfl:

Soappie - I think I would be showing DS the latest bill and have heart to heart with him, maybe he can appeal to the DILs better nature or cough up a bit extra towards the bills. Could you reconsider how you charge them rent? Say x amount for the room and a % share of the bills. I think it might appease your angst if you could find a way that they could contribute a fairer share.
