hello all, DH is reading the manual for his new toy so I've been catching up on here.
soappie - what a difficult one. Greenbee will be  at those bills! lol. Have you talked to them both together about it? I'm just wondering whether if DS was there too he might be able to persuade her to take it on board more. I also wonder if a bit of emotional blackmail might help - along the lines of 'my job may be at risk, there's a recession on, we all need to cut back'. It obviously needs to be tackled as it's an issue for you and letting it fester is no good. We all know you're a decisive lady and I'm sure you'll do it right. if not you could always scare her into it.... :rotfl:Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Soappie I agree it is underhand, and I would feel that it is like lying too. I can really understand why you feel angry, hurt, and deceived. I'm trying to say that whatever tactics you employ... short of chucking the TD out, will make a difference. She doesn't sound like she'll ever do anything different. Even if you do go on about the cost of the bills.
You could suggest that you'll pay up to what you feel is appropriate, and they can pay any thing over and above that.
At the end of the day, if she's cold, she's going to want the heat on.... whether we think it's at an appropriate level or not.... iyswim.MMSSB Club Founder Member

I'm bruised. You've really bruised me there. Not fair. Blue fading to purple fading to green then a muddy yellow colour just doesn't suit my complexion :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening all,
Sorry to report, I've not done much flying today, apart from some washing up this morning and S&S the kitchen (hob included) this morning as I've been out at work again today. I went to the gym after work and decluttered 236 calories in my 5km cross-trainer session (26 minutes this time), but think I put most of them back on when I decluttered the last of my box of celebrations when OH was upstairs. I have NO self-control! Went to dinner at my parents tonight, and posted a card through Lady-Liberty's letterbox from all of the flyladies and gents to wish her a speedy recovery from her operation on the way there. It was all dark inside, and the drive was empty, so don't know if she'd made it back from the hospital (around 7pm) or not. Didn't want to knock in case she was in bed, so just posted it through.
I'm off to bed now as I'm shattered. Plan tomorrow is to do Friday's list, meal plan for the week, food shop, and bake a ginger cake in my heart-shaped cake tin for OH for Valentine's Day. Never made one before and don't know if the recipe I have will work in that size tin (silicone) as it doesn't have any dimensions etc in it, so will have to keep my fingers crossed.
Night all,
sexymouse xx

Mumof477 -thanks but paygo meters here charge far more per unit. It's not that I can't afford it at the moment, it's just that it shouldn't be that high! And we'd never know if she used the TD or hiked the heating up if everyone else is out!
Oooh I do sound like a really wicked mother/mil. I don't mean to be like that it's just it seems to me it's not right!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

soappie it was the underhandedness I didnt like but didnt want to sound harsh - could you read your meter before you go out on a day that you know she is in to give you an idea of what she is actually using then you would have some amunition when you work out what she is costing in terms of fuel?
getting rid of the Td is an option - but why should you suffer?
