Morning All
Plans for day
Clear driveway
Shorten trousers (if I post I will do)
Study
Soappie - I pay £75.50 a month gas/electric. Two bed semi and I have heating on all day. I'm a chilly mortal and refuse to sit and shiver, but aim for 65 (whatever that is in modern)
One thing occurred to me. How do you want her to dry her clothes?
Not being funny but I couldn't hang washing out at the moment. OK I dry on radiators, but there is only me to see it. Maybe she doesn't like having her and her hubbie's clothes draped over the house. Sorry I don't mean to offend, just a thought.
Are they staying with you as a temporary measure or permanently house sharing? If it is permanent then they should be paying 2/3 cost of running house.

morning :hello:
dd came to see me in bed at 6.20 :T - and asked if it was time to get up yet - i made her snuggle up to me for further 10min and then we went downstairs. previously she would get up in the middle of the night and wander downstairs to see if it was time yet... bribery worked
we were supposed to go to the new ikea in southampton once oh was home from work; but he walked in not feeling well, took some medince and is in bed now. we'll see how he is once he's awake again ...
BUT he came in with red roses, chocolate (red lindt!!!) and a card :kisses2: (i never get anything normally  )
why is it when mil is staying over i never get to do any of the list
i do potter around and tidy and clean but i don't manage to do the list - very strange
rosepink i so don't mind all your suggestions!!! i am still on the 'trial-and error' phase ...
it's just apart from OH's clothes on the floor there is no mess in the BR and i'd like to keep it that way.
but it must be a male gene - he just doesn't see the mess!!! or just ignores it and is absolutly not bothred by it?!?!?
i 'allowed' him to put the clean clothes onto his bedside table (might put a chair in the BR, there is just not enough space!) - AND a washing basket for the dirties which NEEDS to find its way to the wm once a day ... i wonder who will do that  - but then again i am up and down lots anyways ...
i guess there is no rule for keeping things tidy just a strictish routine!
but i have to say i love your style
soappie i guess that's a tough one for you. but deffo when they live with you they have to live to your rules! and if she causes higher bills than she/they need to compensate for that.
well, 19 is too low for our house (but i do have 2 little ones) but i agree if there are only adults 'put on some clothes!!!' - i do try and make my kids put on slippers and jumpers, and i just luuuurve my fluffly socks
what does your ds say to it?!
ohhh do you need the flyladies to gear up as superspys again?!?! - i am sure together we'll get you all the evidence you need
SarahSh glad the op went well!! well done for kicking him
Dusty :bdaycake: and have a great holiday!!!
cherie the lists are only suggestions. if you have a full days work you might want to adapt it!
don't beat yourself up over 'not doing it' - whatever you DO achieve is great!!!! :T
aww sexymouse what a nice thing to do (card for LL) - thanks that it's in the name of all of us!! :kisses3:0 -
Passports have arrived this morning - I only posted them last Saturday!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Morning all,
I'm pleased that I could send the card to LL on your behalf. I know that you're all worried and thinking about her, so as I was close enough to do so, I did. It's just a little thing, but I know if I were in her position, I'd like to know that you're all thinking of me. I don't expect she'll be up to going online for a bit, so at least she has our support there to remind her. I don't know why I had it in my head that it would be a day case.Just know that when a neighbour had a c-section (I know it's a bit different) they only kept her in for the day and she was home by the evening. Thinking about it further though I realise she would be staying in longer. Hopefully her DH will deliver the card to her in hospital when they visit her. I don't know if she'll contact me personally - she's more likely to contact Mudbath or Toots, so I'm sure they'll keep you informed of how she's doing.
Happy Valentine's day to you all. Hugs and kisses all round. I got a box of Lindor truffles from OH this morning, and I've given him his card, which he was really pleased with. Have also done the menu plan for the week (only 3 days really to plan as we're going out for 3 meals this week - 1 for Valentine's Day, and 2 parent dinners). Need to get dressed and go food shopping in a minute so that I can get the ingredients for the ginger heart cake I'm making for OH.
Will do the bathroom when I get home. OH emptied the vacuum cleaner yesterday for me, which means I can do a proper hoover around again - it tends to loose a bit of power and suction when it starts to get full.
Take care everyone,
sexymouse xx

Toots I finished Fridays list
- although cleaning the tiles when they are going into a rubble sack today seemed a bit pointless......
You know you are old when your Friday night is spent building a stud wall.
This is the wall between what will be my bookcase/window seat corridoor (now confirmed as 4'6" by 15'6" :j ) and the new family bathroom, plus a BR for DS2. Currently this area is a narrow horrible green bathroom and a large corridoor bedroom. It has been fascinating though - there is a lovely fireplace in DS2's room that we could open up, and you can see the reeds in the floor through the gaps. Why was there an internal wall with windows (covered with hardboard at some point) in-between the BR and what was the corridoor? The glass is really old (and valuable apparently) and there is some lovely panelling underneath, but it has clearly been cut and moved from somewhere else. I will put some pictures on Facebook if anyone else is interested?
Off to BnQ for more supplies this morning. I wish they did clubcard points....
Soappie We pay £180 per month combined - we do have double glazing and the walls are mostly 2 foot thick granite so it does hold heat well. I do use the TD a lot but try not to put the CH on at all unless I really have to so not on a timer or anything. I would talk to them about how bills have gone up and that you have no choice but to increase the rent. I liked the suggestion of moving the thermostat, and removing the fuse. Also have you considered buying one of those little oil filled radiators for their room - at least then you wouldn't have to boil and it must cost less to run than the full CH system?
Happy Valentines Day - By mutual agreement we mostly don't bother as we both buy each other presents regularly for no reason but I was given my hotel chocolat stuff early instead of having them from the boys for my birthday. The caramel drops are going to replace jelly belly beans as my naughty but essential expense of the future. I do love the lindt red truffles as well.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Happy Holiday to Jo
Happy Birthday - and have a great time on the slopes to Dusty :bdaycake:

Morning all and happy Valentines day
Greenbee - interesting idea about moving the controller and locking the door! All areas of the house are shared unfortunately so a sub meter is not a solution. The heating is on a timer but she knows how to override it! And the furniture - thank you, a list would be good. Bournemouth is very doable!
Piggers - even your bills are cheaper than mine! Blimey! You have all those little ones, those two washing machines and tumble driers....I am impressed!
Kiwi - that's an interesting idea of yours as well - % share of the bills...
Diva - more hugs etc. for you and Tris
Fly-flo - thanks - and at least I've found someone with higher bills than me!
Crafty - no offence taken. The front room (my daughter's old bedroom) is very large and there's an airer in there which she puts some clothes on to dry. I use an airer in the kitchen (which is big enough to take it) to dry the other stuff(my clothes, towels, t towels etc.). They're here permanently at the moment. DS in on a lowly local govt wage and DiL is still studying for a degree so doesn't have a full time income. They couldn't really afford to move out at the moment
Mozzy - I haven't broached it with DS yet. I need to gather evidence...
So, I have decided to leave the tumble drier plugged in with fuse for now and just start taking meter readings every day. If I do it around 5pm every day, then it'll become a routine thing to do as soon as I get in from work.
Will now get dressed, stick my bedding in the WM and see what I can clear of this week's lists.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hex - thanks - and I'd love to see the pix on facebook. It's amazing what people block up. When I had my kitchen extension done, there was a part of the bay of the living room that was boarded up and had shelves on it and had obviously been a door at one point and was the obvious place for the doorway to the new kitchen. When the builders took away the shelves and the board - behind there was what must have been the original edwardian door into the original conservatory. It is in perfect condition! Only trouble was, it was locked! but we got round that by cutting through the tongue bit.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
