Greenbee - any ideas on a good commercial boiler or advice you think we might need?

It might be worth looking and new technologies... solar thermal hot water or air/ground source heat pumps. I'll send you some links later (remind me if I forget!). The initial investment may be slightly higher (then again, so might the grants), but the overall payback will be bigger. Air source heat pumps have the added benefit of being able to reverse the process and work as air con! Have a look on the gas & elec board and get some advice there (but remember you have to do your research and confirm that the opinions you get are right... and they're not quite as friendly as everyone here!)

Diva - (((hugs))) and positive thoughts for both you and Tristan. It's disappointing that the operation wasn't a success, but the fact that Tristan has the energy to be so angry is positive in itself! I'm sure it also means that he will be much firmer about making his own decisions about his treatment from now on, and not feel that he has to do things for the sake of family and friends, so will save his strength for what he needs it for.

soappie - a good reason for having to take your meter readings regularly is to join the imeasure carbon reduction project www.imeasure.org.uk

Kiwi - looks like you'll be getting 10 stars this week! Hopefully you've found the second round much easier than the first time, so you've had an intensive introduction to the benefits of flylady... it gets easier every time!

julie - does you colleague have a copy of the letter? Could you call them to check?

hellsbells - hope you quest for fab skin is going well... If you're interested, there's a thread on the green & ethical board with a special offer on organic rosehip oil which lasts until tomorrow. It's the most fabulous stuff for smooth, soft, glowing skin!

Oh yes... happy valentine's day...

Just going to eat my breakfast, then dress and start getting the stuff out of the car :D

juliejim - don't forger about the argos vouchers that expire today! You said to remind you..... I am just about to use mine online for one of DH's birthday presents - what a con though, 5.80 of it goes on P&P.

I can hear ominous hammering noises from upstairs. Scary man seems to be doing a Soappie this weekend. We have overnight visitors next w/end so I have to sort all this mess out when he has finished.

During my HHC Ive put washing on clothes horse, put clean bedding on, vaccumed upstairs. Nipping out to Post Office as I think it shuts at lunch time.

Washed and dressed. Laundry sorted, towels in WM, some stuff soaking. Shelves out of car, so about to make a start on trying to work out which ones go in which cupboards!

    Hiya
Just to let you all know that i've had a text from LL - she's had her op yesterday and is doing well. I've sent everyone's love to her. Thought you'd want to know that she's ok xx
Thanks for letting us know, mudbath and sexymouse for sending the card.
Well, runway cleared of snow/ice and salted and I'm now recovering with a :coffee:. Think that will be all the flying that gets done today. However there is definitely some warmth in the sun so hopefully we will now get a thaw.

Hex - your house sounds fascinating. I love the victorian/edwardian houses on the TV programmes.

morning ladies, not had a very good week flying wise. have really fallen behind, so today i am playing catchup.
i'm doing dds room atm and giving it a really good scrub. we are putting the house on the market in the next couple of months as we only have a 2 bed house and we need 3 beds really now we have a new baby. so my plan is to do all those jobs that have been put off, doing them room by room.

I didn't manage to get back on today - DS1 posted my message,
as DD needed me, and I ran upstairs and forgot all about it. I took her to the doctor's this afternoon - practically carried her as she felt so unwell. Nasty bout of tonsillitis -prescribed penicillin, paracetamol, ibuprofen. I'm doing the same as you nicki, trying to calculate how to fit all the doses in, on empty stomach, after food aargh..

Tell me about it:o I've got a table drawn on my whiteboard in the kitchen (forget the shopping list for now!) with a column for Med time, What time she can eat, and what time she can't eat after and I'm doing a 4 hour break between doses so it leaves an hour for meals! I've also had to put timers on my phone as yesterday we went out and missed a dose by accident so that messed up the whole night! I'm not doing that again - DD was due for a dose at 11pm as a result :mad: And advice from my mum from a doctor when I was little was don't wake the kids up to give them medicine, rest is the best thing for them so split the doses up in the time they should be awake for. Normally that would be fine here, but all this 4 times a day on an empty stomach stuff and oversleeping is meaning I'm having to wake DD up to get the last dose down her
