  • Hi Cotsvale
congrats on taking the 1st step and joining in.
Just wanted to say to try to break it up into smaller challenges so it seems more achievable.
I started with a BMI of 43 , and have come down more than 10 points,I can't exercise and use wheelchair or mobility scooter.
it's taken me a a long time to get this far, and
I am really struggling lately and am still far from healthy weight
but just wanted to say it IS DOABLE !.

hope it works out with the argos low impact walker thingie and here's a great summer and water sports for you !

    Hi Girls
It's taken me two weeks to get up the courage to post here. ...<snip>...As you can see I have a mountain to lose. I have a bad foot condition which makes walking painful and I have a bad back too which makes exercise at the gym difficult too...<snip>.....
  • Hi Katrina

well done on on your 4 kilos lost.
rather than trying to eat even less calories, are you eating often enough? Little and often is good for keeping the metabolism going.

    good luck

    Hi!

I turned 28 in October last year and realised that the post-baby fat I've been carrying has actually been there for 6 years and is actually getting worse!

I've been on a fairly strict diet for 2 months and initially lost 4 kilos in the first 4 weeks but since then I've not lost anything. I cannot exercise at the minute as I'm recovering from injury and short of lowering my intake below 1400 calories per day I really don't know what to do!

    Any advice?

well done on shifting another 2lbs this week, keep it up and you're on target to reach your goal !

congrats to all the other losers too.

unfortunately, I'm a 'finder' and have gained a bit :(, but I'm working on and plan to reverse my recent gaining trend.

Onwards and downwards for us all.

  • Hi all

Just tripped over this thread and would like to join too.

I'm doing the weight loss thing on my own and it would be nice to have a bit of support. I've got no convenient SW or WW near me and anyway, I'm too broke to shell out for weekly meetings! But I have found this:

    https://www.fitday.com

Once you've set up a free account there are various things you can do on it. Logging your daily food intake is great fun but be careful as it's a USA site and the measurements might take a bit of getting used to. There's also a great weight tracker that pops up with a handy graph and a daily nutrient checker too to make sure you're not deficient in anything important. I especially like the activities chart - you'll probably find that you do a lot more exercise than you think!

It seems to be working - I've lost 5lbs in two weeks but it's felt so slow!

    Good luck to all! :j
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

    Hi Minnie,

5lb in 2 weeks is great, if it comes off too quick, you'll just pile it all back on. Keep going if you've found something that works for you. I'm going to SW class this time although I did lose a lot last time I did it at home.
    Good luck and welcome along

Cheeky mole----I find you, blue-kat and nearlyrich so supportive.
I started last Thursday and find it not too bad except that I have had a headache since yesterday and I'm not a headachy person as a rule.

  • Thanks to blue-kat and all the others for the words of support. I am trying to focus on 1/2 stone at a time. I've just weighed and there is no progress this week I am the same as last week BUT I did have a really bad week - family Chinese meal out on Thursday, lunch out whilst car shopping on Saturday (good job I wasn't driven to drink as well) and as we were so late back after car shopping we had fish & chips. After a month of a low fat food plan my stomach was cramping and upset all day yesterday...serves me right!! Old habits die hard and F&C has always been our quickie standby. I have thought about this and have now put a pkt of pasta and a nice LF sauce/ jar of Pesto in a special place for emergency use. It would actually be quicker to cook and serve the pasta than to go to the chippy.

MinnieSpender that site sounds good so I will have a look. Thanks.

Is there a receipe section anywhere? I don't eat tomatoes/peppers but lots of the SW receipes are full of these. I'd be interested in an alternative to "Add a tin of chopped tomatoes" heehee I am such a fuss pot with my veg my nan who looked after me after school never made me eat my veg and that has left me with this problem, I have got better over the years but peas are still a no no no too.

Here's hoping for a good week for everyone.

bettyr, I think the headache is part of changing your diet habits. I cut out diet coke a few years ago and had serious withdrawal symptoms. When I started a few weeks ago, I had a couple of headaches, I think it was chocolate withdrawal!!!

The SW website does have a few recipes on it but it's easy to make your own up. When it says add a tin of toms I only ever add half and honestly you can hardly tell they're there. Give it a go...
Keep going though, don't let it put you off and talk to us here whenever you like

Put on 1.5lb. I knew I would put something on. Had a busy social weekend, out for a meal both nights and was drinking on one of them. Made DH a chocolate fudge cake for his bday and have eaten about 2/3 of it, the temptation was too much. I knew I had put weight on but still went to class (didn't stay though as had DD and DS with me).Its got me motivated again. Just made a big batch of quorn chilli for tea and that will do me for lunch tomorrow, also made huge pot of leek and potato that will freeze and go in fridge. I had been off sick for 3 weeks and being in the house made me eat - back to work and packed lunches and no nearby shops so fingers crossed am back on the right track
Havent posted for a few days so Hello and Welcome to all new "losers :rotfl: " that have joined while I was offline. Good luck with the weight loss and share any new tips/recipes!
