Halifax reward account online now, and the old accounts....

The payment should be made on the first processing day of the month so it will be 2nd March this month and the payment backdated on statement to show the 1st of month for any account that has met the conditions needed for the bonus. Although to be honest I am still waiting for my credits to appear on my account and I know I have met the conditions.0

im interested in this will have to keep this thread in mindPigsback (£8.55) recieved £30 boots voucher QuidsInUk (£32.35) MoneyMaddness (£27.68)
Target for the year £1000 -
I have just spoken to Halifax and been told what Blondierowe has posted above, # 442, that the reward is processed by Halifax on the 1st of the month, (assuming it is a "bank working day"), then placed into the account at/after midnight that day, so as the 1st March was a Sunday, the process will be today, 2nd March, Monday, and the reward should be in accounts tomorrow, and if the 1st of a month IS a "bank working day" the reward will be in accounts on the 2nd of the month,so it seems it cannot appear on the 1st of any month as that day is the "processing day".
Re my post #421 above; -Just checked mine.
I changed from the HICA to the reward over the phone on the 9th February, have since deposited the £1000. for the month and it is showing that interest was credited on 28th February, a Saturday, (13p net, as only had an average of around £100. in account over the month,so this works out about right if interest is 2.5%), I assume that is the interest for the HICA and if so will I still get the £5. tomorrow? or have Halifax messed up?
Name of account showing as; - "Reward Current Account"
I was told that the 13p interest I referred to was the interest on th HICA up to the date I changed the account to the Reward Account, and as interest on that account was/is credited daily that is why I received a few days interest.

maybe I wasn't making up the 1st of the month bit after all!
Yes you were ..... because you said the 2nd !
I don't think it's anything to do with 'processing' days .... as Halifax run a full blooded Batch on a Sunday night. That's why you never see 'next day' DDs being earmarked on their current accounts over a weekend / Bank Holiday. This must be to do with running the periodic software that produces Statements ..... as that will be where they decide if you've met the £1000 rolled up credit for the month? So - presumably, where it co-incides with the month start - they factor that away from the Sunday night - which is rather busy d/w all the DDs / SOs which get pushed to the back end of the weekend.
Only little niggle at the back of my mind is whether they will pay the Reward £5 alongside HICA interest ........ where accounts were converted during February? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

If you look at my post above #444, you will see that I was told interest on the HICA will be paid up until the date you change, in my case it was for 9 days, so if I get the £5. tomorrow it seems likely that you will get double interest if you managed to change over towards the end of the month?

I have just received a paper statement for my Reward Current Account, ( but as it is for the period 27th November 2008 - 26th February 2009, it is also the HICA, although it does say at the top "Reward Current Account").
In the booklet that comes with it under "frequently asked questions", (of which there are only 2); -
When will I receive my first reward payment?
Your Reward payment is paid on the 1st of the month after you have paid £1000 into your account.
Sounds simple enough, but on the paper statement it states under "Fees Explained"; -
Reward Payment: We'll give you £5.00 a month if you fund your account with £1,000 a month. The Reward Payment will be paid into your account before the 10th of each month.
Now the 1st is before the 10th, but why do they have to make it so complicated?

we converted our HICA into a Reward 2 weeks ago. got £1.03 interest on the account at the end of the month, now waiting to see if we get the £5 as well.0

More help needed in reference to my post #437.
Just called Halifax, after wondering how I was going to explain why I'd opened 3 Reward accounts, only to find out the Lady I was speaking too
had done the same.
Anyway asked where my missing money had gone to, only to be told
that she can see no record off it and that it should get returned via
BAC's within 3 working days...And that I should have
funded the account initially with £100 via the branch. She had no answer
as to why one of the 3 accounts I'd opened was o/k via Faster Payment
from Tesco though. Any advice folks???0 -
I know it is difficult but it may pay to wait a couple of days.
The circumstances of what you describe have happened to several on this thread, including me.
On every occasion the money magically re-appeared again.
Of course, there is always a first time!0
