  • HUH! I've applied online and I had the 'we'll contact you in 14 days message'. Annoying because I have a quite a few products with Halifax and have never had trouble opening accounts before. Wonder if its because I've just made a few bob out of them with my slow stoozing! (halifax one!!) They're on to me!;)

try adding them manually if you have the sortcode and account number?

I went to add/remove accounts, I was  to see all three accounts listed, the two branch accounts opened had been set to " dont display".

    :T
  • I applied for a Reward Current Account the other day and it said after the application that they'd be in touch within 14 days. However, today when I logged on to their online service I got a pop-up window telling me I could add a recently opened account. It then let me tick a box and add the Reward Current Account to my online profile.

However, I cannot access anything - there is no link like the other accounts showing (i.e. online savers and easycash) and I cannot transfer into it either. I've heard that Halifax always generate an a/c number even if they decline you but my question is do you think i've been declined because if so why did it offer me the facility to add the account? BUT I think it may have declined because it won't let me click into it.... anyone able to help - please?

Is this normal behaviour for accepted accounts or do you think its a decline, i.e. when I logged in yesterday and even this morning I never got this pop-up so i'm wondering if someone has opened the account for me and the reason I cannot click into it is because they are writing to me or something - HELP!??? LOL

I'm just a little pessamistic due to 3 refusals from halifax in the last 2 months LOL...

    Thanks for any help...

Does it by any chance say 'Awaiting Decision' underneath the account?

I have set up 3 reward accounts. On the Halifax website it says £5 will be payed "after tax". But as a non-taxpayer how do i claim the tax back as the gross amount equtes to £6.25? Do i fill in a R85 form?

How is it that you are not a tax payer?

I believe the only way to claim it back is by filling out an R40 form at the end of the tax year.

Just been in to branch today and I have been reassured after complaining about this £1 per day charge; the CSA informed me that my account T&C's will remain the same - the HICA is not getting moved to a reward, however the HICA will not be available as a new account from now on.
So, I get to keep my credit and debit interest and not be penalised for managing my money well.
Just though you all needed to know this, the CSA also double checked her facts just in case. ;)
