It seems a bit strange all these recorded delivery's going untraced. I wonder if its something to do with just e2save being traced or if its all recorded delivies. I have experienced very late aknowledgements in the past with track and trace though but in those cases when I rang the recieving party they confirmed they had recieved it. I always used special delivery though but from what I heard the compensation thing is not as good as you might think, can't rem what it was now though. Could it be a dodgy postman after hearing all the post office delivery probs or am I being a bit too paranoid
    Thanx

  • I had similar experience when send recorded delivery to NTL to terminate my home phone contract. Sent 1st letter and cannot be traced on royalmail's track&trace. Then sent another using same method - again not tracked.
But eventually NTL terminated my contract, so I guess they have received it but somehow avoided being tracked & traced!!!!

They are sent to a Post Office box, but now I'm unsure how to proceed.

Should I send them again? Or wait? Or Call them?

Just rang royal mail.....having sent letter and chequeback voucher by recorded delivery. the cs advisor stated that "come back later" means that the letter probably has not arrived and may be lost.
Regarding compensation they said that this is not possible and only available for deliveries via special delivery? Is this true. They offered to to log the mail as lost if it does not appear within 15 days, but nothing else.

Will e2save send me another voucher or acept just the copied bill as proof? Waiting in queue to speak to them at the moment....

I rang the Royal Mail, no help, I asked if it is a problem with the address, they couldn't tell me.

The e2save cashback leaflet can be downloaded and printed from here (pdf):
    http://www.e2save.com/popups/Chequebackform.pdf

Let us know what e2save say, there could be a backlog for cpw to collect?

you can get compensation with recorded delivery but only for the value of what you have posted (up to £28 i believe) and not consequential loss.

funny, as i have also recently sent a letter to ntl and one to e2save at the wednesbury address but nothing on the track and trace. i have received a reply from ntl saying they have received my letter though so it looks like that got through. will wait a few days to see what happens with e2save before ringing them. they have generally been very good with the cashbacks.

i wonder why they don't just give us an email address to send scans of the bill as they accept photocopies or printouts of online bills.

I have today found out that the last 3 digits of the post code are different
to one another. On the redemption form I have got it states TWZ (incorrect
as first digit should be a number). On the website under where do I need to
send the cash back form to it states 7WZ, if you download a copy of their
    T&C's it states 7JN.

I called to query which the correct address is and they advise that the 7WZ
is incorrect. I argued with them as I have sent 3 items and none of them
have been received, she gave me her email address and told me to email the
first two pages of the phone bill and send it to her. As the other 2 were of
family members she advised they will need to ring up as I was unable to
email their bills to her and was told to let them call us. I have just done
this and will see what happens.

Royal Mail will pay upto 100 times the basic weight 1st class stamp (currently £30) compensation for lost/damaged Recorded items, You can obtain a claim form from the post office. However Recorded does not cover consequential loss so they will only cover the value of the items sent. ie: the paper that the envelope contained and maybe a book of stamps as a goodwill gesture. They could refuse to compensate for full cashback value as the paper form you sent in the envelope was not worth £x.

Always use Special Delivery as these are tracked throughout the network and offers enhanced compensation levels.

Also think, if a Mobile Retailer received a recorded and it wasn't showing as delivered on RM site, or if they hadn't signed for it, would they pay Cashback?
