afternoon all....what a long thread to read through this afternoon.
I need help....................cannot get my head around writing this darn essay for Uni. Been sat behind the laptop for 3 hours and only have about 3 more sentances than i did last night. My extension ran out last night! Its on prejudice and stereotypes in the health and social care sector and is boring the life out of me because you have to be so PC.
Anyway, money saving today...
- scratch (20p) - tried it again and got another 10p!!
- NSD - yeah, first of the month and my 12 this month challenge!!
- storecupboard meals
- going to find the carrot cake recipie from the thread a few days ago in a bit and make some for snacks next week
- could someone point me in the direction of the hobnob recipie?
- desperately try to finish my TMA & do section of project work
- dry washing on radiators
- only one visit to horse today
- take dvd's back so dont get charged extra (Tropical thunder - so bad it was good)
- walk there for free exerciseDFW 228 LONG H 68

Afternoon, got up very late today. Think my body is craving lots of sleep to get me over the mumps. Had a good time with my best mate yesterday, however I think the other side of my face is trying to swell up now.
My plan for today is nsd, already checked online banking and take it easy. Been doing way too much for someone who is ill.
Sounds like plenty of sleep is a great idea. Being ill is a drain, isn't it? I wish you a speedy recovery.0 -

Thanks paul, my head is sore and it hurts to even move it. Was kinda hoping my older sister was wrong when she said it was gonna get worse before it got better. Oh well, at least the doctor signed me off so I didn't have to be in work this weekend. Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

SophiesMum – what a weekend you have been having
Andan – glad you had a nice time with OH
SarahB123 – I don’t use Quidco much and won’t after being rejected for a claim which I actually took screenshots of when buying insurance (the insurance company rejected it supposedly)
MrsAudus2b – Sounds like your hen weekend will be a lot of fun
BathgateBuyer – my friend and DH was in the same situation as you a few years ago (6 bedroom house with garden outside Edinburgh or 2 bedroom ex Council in Corstorphine), they decided on the 6 bedroom as they were planning on having a child and childcare was too expensive in Edinburgh
My dfw things for today:- Breakfast – continued to use up old Ready Brek (currently have 2 boxes open and I’m the only one eating it on a Sat/Sun
- Took the time to scrape the car windows instead of using de-icer (although I don’t really like the residue it leaves anyway)
- Found 2p
- Ironed DH’s shirts
- Swept kitchen floor with brush (saves me doing it tonight or tomorrow am, unless DH makes a mess)
- Left car for DH to drive back home (I took bus with my already purchased 28 day bus pass)
- Lidl – got several free papers (yesterdays and they always have tons) and cut out coupons (used already)
- Used £10+ in money off coupons in Asda :T
- Collected pkt of free prunes from Holland & Barrat (coupon in yesterdays D Express which I got from Lidls)
- Collected free James the tank engine book & model from WH Smiths (coupon in todays Sunday Mail)
- Boots – got No 7 P&P hand cream (£10 rrp), used 250 points coupon and £5 off voucher printed from AC machine (so paid £5 cash got £2.50 back in points and a voucher for spending £5), then got a Toni & Guy shampoo (reduced to £2.69), used 150 points on any Toni & Guy product and £2 off haircare voucher I was just given (so paid 69p cash and got £1.50 back in points)

- Washing done at 40 deg, hanging indoors
- Made 1 ½ cups of tea from one tea bag
Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
Boots points: £0.28
Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)

I suppose it's bacsue I've been in the flat now for over 7 years that I feel quite attached to the area and really used to it, but I get the feeling I've 'outgrown' it. I can see the limitations of where I am right now, that is, not as much room as I could otherwise have - 4 bed would mean one for me, one vistor room, one office and one for............well............I don't really know! A dining room at last for 'proper' meals with friends, none of this 'TV dinner' nonsense, and a garden. How much I used to love gardening before I moved to Edinburgh. Definitely inclined to stick the deposit down tomorrow and make the instruction to sell mine!
The doubt is, do I want to move out of Edinburgh? Not really, but I'll only be 3 miles away! Will I regret it? Who knows. I suppose the thing is to make my decision and have no regrets.
Found out that the plot will be available between early-May and the end of June depending upon when I sell mine (the developer can make it available any time between then). So I would have 4 months to sell mine which I think is fairly reasonable.
Decisions decisions!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Angelflower, why not do it in small bite size chunks, write 100 words, don't over think about the content, then go away and come back and write another 100 words. Then edit etc at the end. Alternatively write it out in bullet point form first and then elaborate on the bullet points. Can be frustrating writing essays!!
Well, obviously i haven't had much time to do many dfw things, however i have realised that despite the lack of time i can still have quality time with my OH and do dfw things. So a new realisation for me, which i hope to keep up with in the future.
So, today's things:
-I have done daily scratch cards
-I played a game of bingo so they don't get suspicious about the number of scratch cards i do!!
-I have done a good solid 30 mins in the garden, getting rid of lots of rubbish and tidying it up, part of 101 challenge and ready for growing my veg seeds.
-Started compost bin off today, this will be good for the future as i won't need to buy it eventually!
-All meals are from storecupboard
-We watched our free love film trial dvd
-Have made an extra meal for tomorrow's lunch and left over turkey will be used for lunches for work this week
-Have filled up more small bottles with pop
-Have begun sorting out bakery cupboard so i know what i need to buy, will buy eggs tomorrow and do some baking!
-Checked online banking
-moved money around
-Applied for free cinema tickets courteousy of the freebie board
-Checked for cheap travel tickets
-Worked through free dental treatment form
-Have read book for free entertainment
-Lots of money put in 101 challenge pot, especially as we didn't spend anything last night, the pub was deserted so we decided to go home instead, drank booze already in the house
-Continued using up old beauty products
-Tried to reschedule a mystery shop
-Sorted out friend coming over for deep tissue massage, so i can get that under my belt and on my website.
Thats it so far today, will update later when OH unfortunately has to go back.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Did it work out for them? I suppose, no regrets! This place was a brilliant buy at the time and I had the same panics then, so it's maybe a natural 'am I doing the right thing' thought!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
