Thank you all for the suggestions I think many are very worthy - we will take a look at this soon.
One thing just to comment on
"Which is exactly why the system should fit the people using it and not the other way around, imo. There is clearly a need for this to be taken into account."
While in general I'd love for this to happen. Ultimately when things go wrong Im the one that is sued (and you'd be surprised how many legal letters we get, because of the forum). This does mean some sections can't happen - especially giving advice on family/health type issues.

Just one suggestion, no matter how many boards/sub boards - please could the titles be put in alphabetical order?
I don't mean the main headings (ie Pure Money, Work & Benefits) particularly, but the one's underneath.
A little thing, I know, but it does make finding things a bit easier for those trying to navigate around.
Thank you0 -

Thank you
So for eg each of the main headings would be across the top of the board if you click on for eg " Work & Benefits" It would bring a drop down menu to each of the boards of "Work & Benefits" ieWork & Benefits

I'm guessing for drop down menus it will depend on a) how the site is coded and b) what scripts they can run...requires php I think to do nicely and I suspect that is a tad beyond MSE (no offence the site is very nifty but a tad basic
)

Sorry becky_rtw I hit edit on your post instead of quote
It is possible with v bulletin afaik.
I got the idea from another forum (that uses v bulletin) I use & it works v well.:hello:0 -
Oi stop editing me - didnt know you guys could do that!!
Yeah its possible in Javascript/html I think (isnt everything after all)...but those lovely 'hovering'ones are php arent they?? You know the ones - where you hover over the thing and the menu drops down - very nice to use! Anyway, I agree any drop down menus or personlisation of view options are good0 -
Lol becky_rtw. Sorry about that.
Tbh I know nothing about coding etc I do well to be able to post here:rotfl::hello:0 -
I wouldnt worry - I clearly need to do my research before talknig about scripts anyway:

Martin
Martin I completely accept your point with regard to health matters. Does the same really apply to the Family Board though? The family board is full of people wanting to talk over a problem they are having with their wife/husband/child etc. There aren't the same definitives like there might be in the Health Board.
I'm happy to admit to being too simplistic but I dont quite understand the reasoning especially since I would have thought the risk of being sued was greater on the financial boards where serious financial advice is offered and acted upon every day? So I'm a little confused about the 'risk criteria' if you like.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Where would one post general credit questions? Eg, about credit rating etc? Is there a forum for that, or can one be created?
Could the diaries in DFW be in their own forum? My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0
