Ooooh thanks for that one... Will be trying to grow leeks in the spring, and have another attempt at rocket (failed with it indoors so will try it outside from spring).

That has useful info as to how much to put in one pot (something that lots of other places seem to omit, presuming you are sowing a full plot of stuff) ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Oh also. Is it just me or is it getting warmer? Came out of the house this morning at about 7ish and it just felt like a summer day after rain to me. (I'm in the east midlands) The office's heating has been turned off as the heat was making me feel sick, has been for the past few days!

I'm going shopping this afternoon, would it be an idea to stock up on sugar? I can easily get through a bag of caster sugar a week when I'm baking. Is it set to go up in price?

cinny I suppose its down to wether you have room etc at the moment, the price here has suddenly shot up so it might be worth grabbing a bag or two just in case..
Obviously the price may come down again but with all sugars its been steadily rising since last xmas with a couple of big 'jumps' recently

I think with me its now become an obsession to beat the price hikes :o I just can't see how they can justify doubling things like preserving sugar:confused:
I know the harvests have been poor, oil went up etc but do the supermarkets think we're stupid?? I hope they get left with a ton of stuff on their hands as people refuse to pay such overinflated prices.*rant over* lol sorry :D

I have my own cupboard in our family kitchen so once I've cleared out junk other people have put in there I think I'll have enough room for about 6 bags which should last me into the new year.
I noticed silver spoons caster sugar has gone up abit. I'm sure it was around £1 at the start of the year and it's £1.22 now. Best take a trolley into asda. Don't think I could manage staggering around in high heels with a basket of sugar and flour today!

my minimum order with Suma is £250 (I guess it could depend on where you're located). I first thought that was loads, but with my sister and a friend (who both have kids) we easily make it!

I am a Suma customer and they have just sent me a letter about their new online ordering service, offering a free memory stick if I register. You can see the products, but you need to have a logon to see prices, which isn't exactly ideal, but may be useful for someone to see if its their kind of thing. Its at www.sumawholesale.coop

:o Have just had a "browse" on the approved foods website and ordered £30 worth of stuff!!!!

Could not resist the Simple facewash and wipes at £1 instead of about £4, as DD always wants me to buy some, as well as the tins of soup at 6 for a pound etc.etc. loads of tea bags andcoffee sachets- the list was endless.

They also offer a Sainsbury docking cube for an i pod for £5 instead of £25 if you order over £25 of goods. It is also an alarm clock and a radio!!!

Just hoping stuff arrives while DH is out as he is likely to complain less if I have already stowed things away etc.

Chicken and roast potatoes are in the Remoska and cabbage and leeks are on the hob for tea.

    DD due home any minute.

I tried to place an order on the Approved Foods website but found that the discounts didn't seem to be taken ie 2 for £1 still comes up at full price. I didn't check out for this reason - did it work OK for you guys?
