ideas appreciated :j
Hoping to make something new tonight x
Do you have any garlic? If so chop the onion and fry lightly with a little oil and some garlic and then add the chopped tomatoes, good pinch of mixed herbs and either some chilli powder or some tabasco (sp?) and let this simmer away for about 20 mins. Meanwhile cook your pasta with a stock cube in the water (veg, ham, chicken or beef it doesn't matter), drain pasta add to tomato mixture put into an oven proof dish and sprinkle over the top breadcrumbs mixed with grated cheese and put in an oven until it bubbles.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. When I was first pregnant I started a button box, it seemed like a mummy thing to do and that my children would want to play as I did, now they are 14 and 11 and have never been interested in the button box! I sent it to our local charity shop about a year ago and now wish I had kept it...!

I have still got my late Mum's button tin. It is an old cigar tin and both I and consequently my own daughter have enjoyed playing with the buttons as children.Felines are my favourite

Herbs can be substituted for a good twist of black pepper and breadcrumbs for a smashed up cream cracker or equivalent.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. My mum's button box was a tartan Petticoat Tails shortbread tin. I wonder if she's still got it...

d&dd I am so coming to live with you if you are gonna start up an os school! My kids would love it, well dd1 might have a moan as anything wrapped in shiny paper or in a plastic tray is nirvhana to her lol!
I have a friend at work who is a really good cook and pretty os, and a couple of friends who cook and sew a lot, other than that it is my friends mums who I turn to when I need help with os stuff, though we've all had to accept that crochet will never be something I master lol!
Anyway, what I came on here to say was that the Food Programme on radio 4 yesterday was all about shopping and feeding yourself with local ingredients, I think it's on listen again if anyone's interested. I really enjoyed the programme and hearing how the families managed to do it was like reading posts on the os thread!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Sorry, I have potatoes, Cream, Milk, Cheese, Carotts, Eggs, all the normal store cupboard stuff like flour, pasta, tinned toms, etc etc, I just want something as easy as possible, I am tired already and dont want to have to do loads when I get in cooking, I usually just do a roast chicken when I have a whole chicken to cook, but cant be faffed to do all the Roast Pots and vegs etc.0 -
I think I'd be tempted to do a variation on chicken casserole and cook it all in the one dish, potatoes, onions, any other veg plus a gravy style sauce or tomato based one like I mentioned for the pasta a few entries earlier. Let it all cook away whilst you watch tv or relax in the bath.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
