I've had 3 or 4 power cuts recently!

The blanket is on track :T after several poor starts. The biggest difference came after I undid 3 rows and cast on again with a much fatter hook ie 6 and I then carried on with a size 4. The bottom edge is now straight and I have done about 6 inches already. It is wide and looks lovely and I am doing 2-3 rows in different colours. I have even added 2 rows in a textured yarn and that looks good. I have stacks of odds and sods of yarn, enough for a large throw/blanket which will add a nice homely bit of colour to my lounge
It is very comfortable just handling one stitch at a time0 -
people have been talking about storage. The whole of my stored food, including 46kg of flour, is is a normal sized under stairs cupboard.
ps: I am just back from a motorway journey and I was horrified to see fiel after field of wheat and other grains, looking brown instead of golden. Pity help the farmers
Kittie you may be glad of that flour. I heard from a friend that her friend, who is a local grain farmer, told her today that all flour stocks will have to come from abroad for the coming year. This harvest British wheat is only fit for animal food.0 -
That is what I have heard Charis. It is such a sad state of affairs for the farmers0

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but I saw mention of something called an Omnia Recreation Oven £34.45 in a camping magazine which may fit the bill ecs-marine-equipment.co.uk or 01582 729721 it originates from Sweden apparently.

Well things for us have gotten tougher
Our car was in for an MOT today and its goign to cost £400 to get it road worthy!!!!     So needless to say this month we are not using anythgin extra dn are watchign our budget very carefully. Its all stupid minor things that make it unroad worthy but im hoping i cna get by on whats left after ive had to lend bf the money to get it repaired - ive lent him £150 - for the tax and petrol after hes paid to have it mended because he needs the car to work - there is little work in our village and he has to travel 30 minutes each way to get to his job,
He could cycle and use a train in teh main stretch but the weather here is horrendous in south wales lately and he cant risk getting ill - hes recovering form eye surgery and last week had an injection into his eyeball (lol should point out hes fine driving etc though) but if he gets ill his meds get effected and he cant work.
Still have no heating on despite gettign absolutely drenched in a torrential downpour as we picked up our 4 year old from his first day of big boy school - hes now sat in a vest, pants and his fleecy dressign gown and him and daddy had a hot chocolate each which seemed to do the job nicely.
Am not impressed though - little one has a chest infection adn he is on his last day of meds and ive jsut dropped the bottle and its spilt everywhere! doh! going to finish the cough medicine off and see how he goes failign that i feel another trip to the doctor coming on again.Time to find me again0
