This might sound like a daft question, but I'm new to this so happy to sound daft!
How do you come up with your meal plans?
At the moment I cook on Sunday (meal depends on what I fancy, but I cook LOADS) and keep eating that until it runs out and then start again. It's not a bad way of doing it, but the same thing for three or four days can get boring, and I never know what to cook until I'm in the shop the day I'm cooking. And then I end up buying loads of bits I don't use.
There has to be a better way!!
It is a nuisance to get started, but I started by making a list of all food I had in including tinned items etc, then made a lits of meals using those items and just buying what I needed to top the meal up.
I still have food in, but once all is used, I will do a basic meal plan each week based on meals that we like and will go something like this:
Roast Dinner(Chicken, Lamb or Pork)
Sausage meal (with mash, or toad in hole or cassarole)
Pasta Meal (Spagbol/Tuna/Mac Cheese etc) serve with basic salad
Curry & Rice (probably using leftover meat from roast)
Fish Meal (Pie or pieces)
Egg, Oven Chips & Beans (easy/free meal as we always have these in)
A use up meal or a baked spud etc
