heres a good deal borrowed from another forums!

xbox crystal console with sharks tale, sonic heroes and munchs odyssey (games can be sold for about £50-60 on ebay) for £89.99. this offer was so poular the store withdrew it - think it was a mistake to offer such a good deal![/b]

I think before everyone jumps on the bandwagon, they should think about what they are actually trying to get for their £90.

You may if you are lucky get an Xbox and 3 not very good games.
    ::)

Many on here have had a better deal from Argos for £99, for which you can get one decent game, extra controller, and 2 steering wheels, which is a better deal. Nearly forgot the £10 argos voucher included too ;D

Is it really worth all this contacting ASA and scamming Toysrus for a measly £10 saving ? ???

It's a good deal butI don't think it's available now - is it?

I'd say £89 is a good buy for an x-box + 3 games when the xbox retails at £99.99 on its own - especially when you can sell those games (if you don't like them) for £40+

I wondered why sainthalo had gone very quiet ;D

I think it expired 19th November from what I read, plus you needed the original voucher anyway, which presumably nobody here actually had in their possesion.

Time to move on..... Next ;D
  • I dont understand the mentality of some of the people on this forum  ??? ??? ???.  Its ok to take advantage of a price mis-quoted on another site, or to use a code that they shouldnt use. Yet they criticise the information being provided on this thread as being Fraud.

No one is pressurising anyone to use this info, click on another thread if you dont like the info.

The purpose of this site is to take advantage of Loopholes in the system this is just another one of these and by shouting down the OP of these threads there wont be anyone willing to stick their neck out, just to get a lot of abuse from other members.

I havent gone for this either....but goo luck.....i dont understand why people are complaining either this is just a price error on piece of paper rather than a price error in electronic format....or have i missed simething.....some people have double standards...start on the moral high ground and then in the next breadth try to take advantage of the next website price error...lol... ::)

Talkshop, I was refering to the Argos offer you mentioned NOT SaintHalos

You are correct the toysrus offer has expired but the complaint (and loophole) is that toysrus cancelled the deal before the date mentioned on their advertising. ASA have taken issue with this and SaintHalo is suggesting that if people complain to ASA then they may be able to get in on this.

Unfortuantly the Argos deal you mention has finished and, unlike sainthalos method, there is no way of getting this (unless you can prove me wrong) now that the promotion has finished.

So I wouldnt encourage people to move on quite yet - we havent received anything back from the ASA yet and there are, to my knowledge, no deals as good as this about at the moment

    Talkshop first you say
    sainthalo

I am happy for you that you have no conscience

Do you go around pretending to have accidents and claim off other peoples insurance ? ...or do you deliberately drive into people in order to claim compensation ?

I think what you are doing is tempting innocent people to commit fraud.

If anyone has any sense you should steer well clear of this  ::)

    Then you say

I think before everyone jumps on the bandwagon, they should think about what they are actually trying to get for their £90.

You may if you are lucky get an Xbox and 3 not very good games.

What you forgot to say that this is a scam, Argos does not actually have a package as you describe and its up to the person to blab his way, to get a freebie steering wheel and controller and I do believe that these actions are definitely fraudulent.

    .
  • The Argos deals are on til the 24th December. But the vouchers finished on 5th December so £89 is no longer achievable.

The £89/£99 one was for a crystal XBOX, a choice of 5 games and a steering wheel (some might say only Driv3r but it was with any of the 5 games).

If people were offered the extra wheels/pads then that is not fraud, thats the fault of the Argos computer having so many deals on it gets confused.

The other deal I started was Crystal XBOX, ANY game and extra control pad for £112 - of which I bought 2. One i got offered the steering wheel. No fraud there.

I received a letter from ASA today, it basically said that they have advised toysrus of their responsibility to give customers a reasonable chance to obtain an advertised offer and that in the future they should offer similar goods in exchange of out of stock items. Toysrus have agreed to abide by this but the ASA will not be taking this matter any further.

So it seems like we are not going to get anywhere with this one.

Thanks again to the O.P. – shame it didn’t work out for all of us though.
