What a pain Fay, and you like the house so much....in the current financial climate they may have difficulty selling both the land and the house. All building work in my neck of the woods seems to have ceased completely.
There are various ways of making the house seem unattractive to potential buyers, I'm sure we could come up with some suggestions for you:rolleyes:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Gosh Fay, what a shame! Perhaps as Piq says, it mightn't happen too soon as the property market is so flat at the moment. Is it the same in Orkney or do you have a bizarre blip in the market?!
I hope you manage to think of a cunning plan! Maybe new owners might want gardening tenant in place?!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
HI Guys
(ta Piq AND HP) - do you think its bad lawnmower karma - or having ideas above my pixie station?
Just done lodger tea and been pottering in green house 12 seed trays done - hurrah.
BUT - I know its silly and I am a bit niave - but its a bit of a blow hearing it like that - asked to speak to him properly later this month when they are up.
I do love the house - delusions of grandeur me - lol - I know its theirs and yeah part of me thinks - well its bound to take a while to sell - BUT will it??
Its gorgeous - albeit 60-70's sytle decor - the place itself is wonderful although it is large - tentatively mentioned it to partner - aside him falling over on the floor rolling around (saying exactly that I have illusions of granduer) how much do 5-6 bedroom houses go for - lots I guess.
Make up - ta - housing market here hasn't really slumped, sure its slowed down, but it never got as bonkers as south - opening the freezer maybe a good idea but as when we moved in there was a sharks jaw in the bathroom and a hogs head in the bedroom - so probably other dead animals arent really very out of place.
Newest addition to the freezer is a wren. I am saying nothing.
Shrugging and thinking lots - sorry to dump it all out. I guess I love this place because it like the house we left when we were with the kids dad - farmers tend to live in nice houses, skint but have a nice house.
Part of me was pleased that we ended up with garden and house like the one we were with daddy.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

 :j these.
please dont think of it as abuse ,its meant as love kisses hugs foot rubs cuddles & encouragement. Its not my fault if you dont understand hampster speak:rotfl: :rotfl: :A
How many times have you polished BRB today ??:rotfl:
:rotfl:
When can I plant out my onion sets ?
I do love abuse - but that's another matter - glad to hear somehow that work is now ok (ish kinda?)
As I think you are married no more talk of foot rubbing or I will go all wobbbly - I think feet are wonderful - polishing my big red beast however sounds a bit rude. I haven't even sat in his lap yet .....lol there we go again (thinking oh god do I mention a big red beast between my thighs - probably best not)
Onions - depends where you are - soon I guess - I am trying this year to start mine off in trays or plugs and then putting them out in April - supposed to help develop strong rootsystems - so giving it a go. I tend to do my shallots before my onions, then when the shallots show sign of first life - I plant out my onions because it means the onions should start off pretty quickly.
my logic is thus - shallots are harder for birds to pull out because they are heavier. So if I plant the shallots first - when the soils at the right temperature to start they start sprouting - so thats a good sign that hte onions will get off to a quick start and then the birds won't pull them up.
If that makes ANY sort of senseTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Sorry to hear about the house Fayjmck..what a blow.
Cunning plan..err manure plenty ripe, with nice downwind..should do the trick. A few exotic wee beasties from your freezer perhaps?
Hope you can get something sorted out soon.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Grrr, sorry to hear about the house, hope it'll go slowly - mine was on the market for nearly a year and it's lovely (well, the estate agent kept on telling me so....probably so I wouldn't defect to another, lol).
Life has a habit of biting you on the backside just when you think everything is fantastic.
Can't believe you've not ridden your beast yet, shame on you0 -
Hi Fay
Sorry to hear about the house .... sounds like you've got some potential for getting to stay tho. And I was just reading on the last page about the meal planning. Cor! I don't do anything like that, and my meals are *incredibly* predictable. Another push on the meal front, methinks. Have a good one
