Not so much gardening tips as obsessive plant ramblings.
I beleive everyone has their own inner gardener and you have to do things that work for you - if you are really worried with your worms - fork it over carefully (big fork or hand fork) - chances of hitting one of them is much reduced by prong rather than by muckle spade. And goodluck with it all. (waves)
PhD mutters - life sentence - my willows are beginning to wake up and some are flowering - have told them to go back to sleep right now. Immediately, I still have far too much writing up to do.
Told them to behave or I will send Piq in to tell them properly.
I seem to be acquiring a certain reputation here, probably deserved...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hi Piq
I was very good today - got my broken axe fixed for free at work and learnt to use the scary electric woodsaw in the potting shed.
All very necessary for free wood:) but still a bit scary.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hey Fay
I was watching TV tonight and was all set to turn off when I found that Coast this evening was in Shetlands and Orkney so I 'had' to watch!
Wow, how lovely! It was really interesting - that show is soooo good although it always makes me want to book holidays and set off straightaway to see some amazing bit of coastline!
I have been reading but haven't had anything useful to post lately.... but you are doing really well with your hairy scary maclairy loan :jI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Morning all from Rudolph's shiny-nosed sister, I've got a stinking cough and cold
I know, only a cold but hey, when my boss said to me yesterday - "if you feel as bad as you look, you should be at home", I took her at her word and spent the rest of the day vegging on the sofa before picking up DD
Exciting news - I have been able to get a new mortgage, using my salary, maintenance and tax credits added together it gave me the right multiplier for my horrendously big mortgage, so I'm back on interest-only (oh well) but feel settled for the next 3 years.
It was lovely to take the house off the market and know that I don't have to keep it showhome clean all the time - tidiness is not my natural state, but having had the house on the market for nearly a year has helped me with my slatternly ways, lol.
I'm still going to be skint as.....but without the threat of losing the house, so it's all good. Think it's why I'm now feeling ill, my body's finally relaxing and letting the bugs in!
Think I should work from home today, the sofa is calling me
Hope you've all read Martin's tip this week - and if you've not got an ING account already, have opened one up for £1 to get a free £200 -
Todays update
I got paid - hurrah - as I never know when - its always a bonus if its early in the month
Paid a bit to hairy loan - so its coming down still.
Not sure exactly how much extra I need for CC so not putting any extra into loan until I sus that one out.
Will get extra contract money this month but again no idea when. The joys of contract work
BRB arrived and DD asked to sit on the beast - calling him by his appropriate name - so he's been welcomed into the busom of the family.
Still thinking over the other room situation. 16 days left of B and B boy.
NSD yesterday - I thought we needed something but found some stashed at back of cupboard.
Been reading Mazbaz - feed family for £20 a month. Awesome.
Thinking of doing a serious shop for cupboard staples when on mainland in April and then seeing if we can reduce the food bill - under budget last month - so trying hard to get us back to under £200 from now on.
OK I get it -MEAL PLANNING WORKS.:D
I just prefer to be a bit more 'fluid' with my food choices, but if it means we eat for about 10X the price then I will become less fluid.:D
Hoping to get back under 9st this month - about to selotape up my big mouth which might help.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Make up - its truely gorgeous here - it has to be said - I often lose sight of that.
KK well done on the mortgage. xx ps also have big spot on nose - surely spots and wrinkles AND FRECKLES aren't allowed on the same face???
Hoping everyone else is well. xxxxx
Had another couple enquiries about friends and friends of friends (and some rellies) basing themselves at ours over the summer (thus far about 3 or 4 diff folk with a week or so here and there and a couple long weekends) - so am seriously thinking about the other room - its useful having it empty over the months of May - September - but still thinking - folks are always great at helping out and contributing (large boxes of food and tesco's vouchers always welcome and appreciated!!)
So am scratching my head lots.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

How is everyone this morning? I got wages from extra work for last week. About a fiver. My own fault as I wasn't feeling up to working extra but I suppose its better than nothing. Hoping to do much better this week, 10 times that preferably.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Meal planning does work and you can have a bit of flexibility. It's the first time I have ever had a food budget, stuck to it and come in under budget - hence the flexibility - the under budget pays for the extras!! Actually, last month I came in 4p over budget, not bad though :TTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

As I came in about 4p under budget maybe we are both OK.
I like the idea of meal planning - but as food is my one real love - I find it a bit uninspiring doing the planning bit - but guess I need to just be more organised and enjoy it ?!?!?- walks off shuddering - flexibility is the cure I guess like you say, I will remember that.
