Yeah thanks
WIll think about it - problem with me is I don't do grass.
Bit of a problem for a gardener - but I guess if I only had a couple of folk to look after it might be ok.
Hope work is ok xx
thank for the run :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :T :T :T :T
you didnt do grass ,
now you have BRB you will do grass ,:j :j
anyone nearish to you who has as much grass as you might be interested in you doing theirs as well , could help pay for the upkeep.:T
Our friend has a lady gardener , she used to do the oldies either side of her and so now she does all three the same day,
, they all garden themselves so she doesnt actually have to do that much , I always think thats a bit like having a cleaner and tidying up before they arrive cause theres a mess :rotfl: :rotfl:Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club

Unix - yeah I only sell on ebay at the mo - was thinking outloud kinda....I find ebay ok for plants as its easy to do stuff - 'orkneyflowers'
Lucille - sell them at the 2-4 true leaf pair stage - about 3-4 inches tall......pipsqueaks really but they germinate so well -
Not sure about whether this is feasible where you are but I remember when I went to Skye they had stalls set up so people could buy things before leaving the island. Plants included. Tended to only be peak season and popular times like easter, bank holidays etc.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. All cheques and DD's are off from last month and now this months round begins........

Darwin needs some tlc this month so I might need to put some money to his upkeep and see about sourcing foam for cushions etc. And of course I need to do his insurance and tried various ways through quidco and its a no goer - hes a specialist insure - bless him
Paid another £5 over to the hairy scary maclairy loan

going to ask a silly question (I was probably asleep and missed it), who's Darwin?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. i never thought about soaking sweet pea seeds in water first.
I know spring is on it's way because i've started to get people to collect their toilet roll tubes for me, and their pop bottles.lol
Back garden is looking fab. we've filled up the built up beds and have mortared pebbles round the water feature. when we emptied the veggie patch in the front we found some baby garlic so that's been transplanted - must have been the stuff planted last year which didn't seem to do anything.
trying to sort the are which was grass, it's now just compacted mud with us walking all over it. I know seeding it would be cheapest but i've read that you can't walk on it in the first year is this true?
well done on payment to scary maclairy loan0 -

1988 vw campervan (blue)- newest addition to our family - was pressie for my 40th
Named partially after Charles Darwin
Named partially after the monkey from the wild thornberries
Part monkey - part scientist - funny enough that seems mighty suitable in our house.
I am an earth monkey (chinese sign), a bit naughty (other part monkey) and a bit scientisty.
Can't get photobucket to work from work, so will upload a photo of him later.

Grass probably looks worse than it really is. If I were you - I'd reassess after you have finished the other bits of the garden. If its really patchy then you can always rake it and throw down some seed. Reseeding a lawn in a night mare - if its wee and its crackered - you might just be better with turf. My thougths (for what they are worth) is that is wont be as bad as it looks now. Get finished up, make sure the 'lawn' bit is tidy enough and leave it for a week or two to see how it responds. Come early april if its awful - you can tackle it then.
Sweet peas have a really hard seed coat - so you can either rub them with sandpaper or nib the side of them - to help break the coat, or if lazylike me you can soak them in (initially) warm (but not boiling) water and that way the seed coat gets softened and the water gets into the seed and it pops it way out of the seed coat when it imbides the water.

Hello! Just found your thread
after a mention from Bob ..... I've only managed to read the first few pages so far, but wanted to pop on and say hi .... part monkey part scientist sounds great to me. And I *do* like Darwin .... my ambition, in a couple of years time, is to pop off round the world, or at least Spain, in a camper van. Anyway, just wanted to :hello:
2023: the year I get to buy a car0
