waving back - think I have seen your diary about as well and have had a sneaky read of some of it. (unless I am confusing you with another.....which is possible with the realitively little attention span I have)

Camper van's rock - and mine is always available for the odd jaunt to sunny climes :)

i've got lots of sweet pea seeds to add colour to the garden.
I really think the grass patch is beyond all help, half of it hasn't had much but mud for a whole year, think turf will be best as we need to let the piggie and bugs stretch their legs during summer and eat it for us.
I've just been updating my numbers for the pennies of interest i get each month on my savings. I've realised that in April i should get into the 20k's which is fab considering where i started. I need to start an ISA so i can start saving money away against the loans which i have to pay off in lump sums, this will be my only way of achieving my goal of being debt free by the end of 2011. I'm looking at the Natwest online one but feel the need to talk it through with someone. Just need to find someone who's got one.
  • Keep out an eye in local garden centres or the bigger diy chains - they will soon have rolls of turf - it does cost much and is pretty easy to lay - just think outdoor carpet and you will have it sussed.

Mind on let me know if you prepare an area and want some willow cuttings. xx

(ps well done on the debt shifting - go you xx)

Hi Fay, just thought I'd pop in and say hi!

I will have a proper read later as your gardening tips look great. Because of the secondcar crash i have to delay my planting and digging AGAIN cos my shoulder can't manage it yet.

Just a little ? What can I pot up indoors for now? Anything, peppers (like they're going to grow in W.Yorks!) I've got potatoes chitting away ready to plant in a few weeks.

Sorry got a bit carried away there when I was just saying hi.

Love Darwin - I want one of those!

hugs to the second crash, poor you - I hope I said so on the other thread but it moves so fast.

I am starting off in wee pots and in trays...........tomatoes, sweetpeas, peppers, and some hardy flowers at the mo, garlic in trays as well as some onion sets (I read that somewhere), will also start beans etc off in a wee while on the window sill xx

I love seeing things soaking before I plant them, its like unwrapping something and looking at it for a while before you put it away.

Nice to see you anyways - xx hope the mad rambles don't get too mad and rambly:rotfl:

  • Lemon tree I plant my sweet peas with climbing beans - they work well together as you can't confuse whats a bean and whats a sweetpea (even if you are myoptic like me) (just don't eat the sweet pea seeds erghghgh).

To be honest I am a real skin flint - can't bear the thought of giving a bit of garden away JUST for flowers - so I sneak in veggies as well where I can. I have leaffy things in the flower borders (between the flowers) like lettuce, beetroot and also carrots etc as the foliage is lovely and then you can eat them when the rest of the stuff has gone too.

Gardening tips too! Fantastic! I'm trying out a little square foot thingy this year - got it dug now - its me on the Greenfingered board worriting about killing earthworms with my spade .....I can see I'll *definitely* be hopping on this diary regularly - of course, your PhD is willows/earth sciences, yes? Tres impressive!

Not so much gardening tips as obsessive plant ramblings.

I beleive everyone has their own inner gardener and you have to do things that work for you - if you are really worried with your worms - fork it over carefully (big fork or hand fork) - chances of hitting one of them is much reduced by prong rather than by muckle spade. And goodluck with it all. (waves)

PhD mutters - life sentence - my willows are beginning to wake up and some are flowering - have told them to go back to sleep right now. Immediately, I still have far too much writing up to do.

Told them to behave or I will send Piq in to tell them properly.
