Hope you've had some news by now Fay - how naughty of them to keep you waiting! :(

Just had email with my PhD revisions in - working up the courage to open it and see what they've said...

    Well, the good things are...

    - they reckon I can do it in 6 months
    - no major changes to structure of thesis
    - can build on existing structure rather than requiring substantial revision

    other than that..

    - 'horrible opening sentence which doesn't belong in a thesis' (!)
    - one of them thought the research methods were adequate, one didn't
    - one of them liked the way I'd presented the material, the other one didn't...
    - blah blah blah...

Parking the damn thing til after Christmas - there's sewing to be done and biscuits to be made!

sorry fay phone has just died on me! why does the battery just seem to go in seconds when you finally need to use it? grrr
  • Well done for opening the email Cheery - nothing to be gained by putting things like that off - it just hangs over your head making you feel all wobbly in the stomach area. :o

Fay -:mad::mad: to mean people who can't just get their finger out and give you an answer. Many hugs to you while you wait.

Echo the above sentiments cheery. x

    !

    How rude!!!

Quite right to park til after Xmas, no point in worrying about it when there is wine to be mulled, parcel to wrap in sparkles and many many boxes of Quality Street to be eaten.

It seems like half of them liked your work though so that is a good thing :T

And in 6 mths you will be a Doctor of ????? - did we ever find out what your PhD was on? Apologies if you don't wish to reveal...are you too aiming for a Doctor of Flowers - perhaps Daffodils???:j

Fay - limbo is the worst, hopefully you will find out soon. Hope you have a nice weekend.

I'm making Baileys & White Chocolate truffles but they don't appear to be setting......may have to eat the mix instead - darn it!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

 shocking, I feel your pain & am happy to help out if required :o
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Hi all
sorry been in a hormonal depth of depression -

Cheery - sorry to hear them being rude (it seems that academics feel the need to be rude whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Spoke extensively to my head of division on Friday - I am not sure an MPhil is right route for me either at the moment - so hes making 'enquiries' - I have to make contact with the other supervisors asap.

I'd rather do something amazingly well than sit about and try something I think is too hard for the effort I want to put into something now (IYSWIM) - ie be an amazing MSc student or something rather than attempting something I might not manage.

    ?

Nowt much else happenning here - just going to crack on with a bit more work and look at sections ..............

Trees in the window alcove - I was the witch from h*** - whoops have apologised

Money wise car MOT was ok £87
Need order oil and coal and probably more logs

Must meal plan for this week as well.

OH and kids being great - told the kids last night and slobbed out watching a movie with both of them.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
