Evening all
Just updated my banking, moved some money to the big G
Negotiated a rent moretorum (SP) of a month with German girl over the time she's off in Germany (6 weeks) in exchange for german lessons for DS until she leaves in May - couple times a week - that's a good swap I think she's not here and therefore not using electricity etc - so I think thats a fair bit of swapping.
Same said german girlie who is off for 6 weeks over xmas/new year has independantly offered her bedroom for visitors coming over the holidaywhich is ace (I didn't even ask!!) so I don't need to move anyone around and can use a lovely 'empty' spare room whilst lodger is away. Hurrrah!!! My lovely visitor will appreciate the lovely stripey room very much.
We crossed emails on the same day about nice things so thats lovely!
Emailed a potential new MSc student to say we can offer a room for 6 months and not a year - will see what he says -
Worked hard today and need to finish a 'long' overdue section about plant growth in challenging island enviornments AKA why nae many trees on islands
PUt some money in the bank from my brother - it started out at 250 and ended up as 165 - 4 days later - I think there were moths in my pockets
I hate when folks give me cash - the moths get it everytime.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Boo to pocket moths - it's a pain when that happens isn't it. Hurrah for the possible stripey sequel though - I reckon "Stripeysocks II - an adventure in (flowery) wellies" would be an ace title. Forgot to say btw - we had an important assessment at work the other week which both myself and my Manager were convinced we were going to fail (Lack of time to prepare properly for it) - I wore my best stripey socks and we sailed through with flying colours so bit of a result there! Thanks for introducing me to the miracle working properties of all things stripey!

EH - woooooooooooooooooo anohter one for the stripes!!!!
Ta for asking about the cello - she said it went ok and the pieces were great - she was worried about her sight reading but will hear by post in a while.
Its great if she gets in but I think its really expensive as there are residential courses but her cello teacher knows our situation and mentioned grants and things - so fingers crossed all goes brilliantly!!
I don't mind about the money, its more I hope we can 'find' the money IYSWIM to let her do it if she wants to and gets in................well done on the excellent sock action by the way.
Love the title!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hmmmm - just raised another two enquiries about quidco earnings - just as well I checked they went through - missing flybe transactions (only 1.25% but flights are NOT cheap!) and also Dell hasn't tracked (DD xmas)
??
ON the positive side found 10p in the laundry!!
Tres odd. Normally everything goes through OK.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Sent off the ADS (Air discount scheme) forms for OH - which feels a bit wierd - he should be here in January so we figured best get the forms away now to get his card in time (gives 40% off flights in the H&I)
Morning all - full of a cheese omelette with eggs the student didnt want to eat (they were OK) - so I am very happy this am - lots to do and staying positive (I am telling myself this!!)
Long odd socks - rainbow stripey and a rainbow star sock - combination of foresight and also sleepy eyes shut when picking socks - they 'felt' the same length
Hope everyone's well.
Must email the humanist celebrant to see if we can have a walk at the site we want for our ''welliefest 'ok you'll do' get your coat you've pulled session'' (conventionally called a wedding) over New Yearshe offered so I am really happy about that!

40% off the flights is a really good deal! And the planning for your wellie fest must be a *lot* of fun...........2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Lol at your wedding title Fay
Fingers crossed for DD's cello audition - sounds like she thinks she's done well! Hooray! And grants would be great, hope it all works out..
Bummer about the house thoughPah to silly landlords!
But you have a positive cheery outlook and will I'm sure figure out the best thing to do! Hope you manage to persuade OH to be wherever you want him to be so it works out best for you!
And what a lovely German lodger you have
All poorly sick hereHad to skive off work for the first time ever in this job yesterday - and off again today - that's £160 I've lost - pah!! Did work three extra days last week, and three extra the week before, but they were meant to pay for Christmas hols and rent I didn't pay over the summer, not to sub this week being off sick!
Still, had a lovely day in bed (even though I felt rotten), and feel more lively today, so might do some cheery sewing. That doesn't count as work, right??0
