The revenge of the stripey socks - a DFW adventure
Comments
-
Strangely enough, I FOUND a long stripey sock this morning that I thought I'd lost forever! Black and red and orange and pink and blue and green and yellow stripey
So maybe they DO occasionally come back out again....0 -
I do believe when I purchased by 32 piece aubergene dinner set (8 each of gorgeous deeply purple flawless peedie and big plates, bowls, mugs) I was indeed in that 11th dimension where odd socks are known to occur
Indeed in the 11th dimension - whilst frequenting the quidconian zone in the ebayaronian sector - the misshap occured due to the extreme shock experienced when the chap emailed me today to say that not only would he indeed send the gorgeous aubergenian plates up to orkney (he'd even heard of it) - there was also no extra charge :rotfl:
I'm dreaming of a purple xmas
:rotfl:Hee hee, brilliant!:rotfl:
Oh I know that feeling well about the delivery charges...Aberdeen you say? Ah that will be three times more than the standard charge...it's not the UK mainland you see. !!!!!!??!!LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
I thought there was a link between odd socks and wire coat hangers? You know - each time you bring something home from cleaning you carefully remove the wire coat hanger and throw the vile thing away, only to later on find several of them in the wardrobe as though some bizarre mutation had taken place? And, coincidentally, you then discover an odd-sock or three......!
Loving the sound of the Welliefest Fay - and amused that OH suddenly wants to get on and do it (get married I mean.....Mphmmmmmm!) rather than wait - you SURE he's not pregnant?!

i'm glad i'm not the only [STRIKE]nutter[/STRIKE] person who thinks that socks disappear into the space time continum. Just where my cat should be heading as once again she's helped herself to my glass of water, is nothing sacred????
won another fiver on BB, so that's 21 squids this week alone so it's bound to be the end of it but i'm still grateful.
dinner services sounds lovely. OH and i went looking a for a new service with smaller plates so we could lose weight, got two sets to get 8 of each and brought them home to find they're the same size but much uglier than the plates we already had. Guess we'll save for a lovely set in the future.
guess we shall be all expecting an invite to try out your lovely aubergine crockery0 -
Hey everyone's invited for tea - what will look really great on purple plates...........? Carrots, peas, sweetcorn, tomatoes, olives.............
LT well done on the win (again!)
Cheery daff I think your socks and mine are sock cousins - nearly ran out of breath reading all the colours!
TAKA - sorry the strangest things happen on here sometimes!!
Katy - you know as well as I do that Aberdeen is some far flung off place near the quidonian zone -
EH - I will check when he's up at the weekend - having not seen him for a while I am not convinced I can lay claim to being responsible
I am out of the shower and infront of the fire 'trying' to do some more writing................
Took a bit of a fit tonight for randomly small (although irritating) reasons unknown to both the kids and me - normally I don't care that DD eats a tea directly before her actual tea and I am resigned to the fact that DS is a messy sod - however - tonight it was all a step too far and I was a ranting lunatic
Therefore I am surmising that I am stressed cos I am not getting enough done - so off to work for an hour or so - *productively*Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

i think you're in need of something more than extra work fay! sounds like you are tired and more than a little stressed at work. maybe a hot milky drink sat with peedie in front of the fire is what you need to start with.
Not that i'm bossy or anything!0 -

And one of my best friends married this week on her 60th birthday - she had begged and begged her OH to make her an honest woman before she retired, and finally he did. We thought he was reluctant, but once they were engaged he was really enthusiastic, and was most upset when she once threatened to call it off :rotfl:0 -
Waves to Olive
Love the honest woman story - I think he's approaching 40 and panicking!!!
