  • Woo - nearly goodbye and don't come back to EE then! Good going Fay!

Hope DS is over his "Boy flu" soon - honestly, doesn't make any odds what age they are, does it!

The La Senza PJs are wonderful - I've got a pair of scotty dog and a pair of cow print, and I love them!

I didnt think you'd jumped! I think lots of folks lose the 'my god I'm really doing great at this thing' - and as its a long haul - its so nice to say - hey you're doing so well!

LT, it was good to read a bit of your story, I "know" you from present day posts, but didn't know how you got here so to speak.
If the craft stuff pops up alot why not have a mini-tidy up of bits you dont want and either turn them into peedie craft packs to sell or make some extra cards for cash?

Thats a good principle. I don't do much craft stuff (tho admittedly I have a fair few balls of knitting wool hanging around for craft projects - it would be drowned in a bin bag, tho, and most only cost 10p a ball. Listen to me making excuses!). Anyway.... my real failing in this direction is DIY stuff - I always have such good intentions of doing things, and I rarely do. Just thinking about the outside of the house, I have:
    - an angle grinder, to get the serious rust off the railing leading up the front steps.
    - metal paint - for said railing.
    - fence paint - for the fences at the back, nuff said.
    - mortar - for repointing the house, the bricks and the mortar have got holes in, and one was bad enough to create a leak last year.

And I've not opened any of it! At this rate, I'll be taking it all to the next house.......

how's DS? did you have to get the dr out? has his temp dropped?
we're just having the mother of all down pours, not helped by the fact that once again upstairs hasn't cleared the guttering so it overpours on our patio doors which despite being sealed recently still turns the living room into a swimming pool. We so want to move into a house and not be at the mercy of people living upstairs. grrrrrrr

thanks for your comment Karma, during the last 3 years i've gone from being career girl perpetually single and skint person to happily married, planning a baby skint person, but what feels good, is not only have i cleared so much we've paid for a wedding with cash, replaced the bathroom, OH's bought a car and scooter (latter to be sold), we've decorated through, and updated the flooring in the hall way and kitchen.
  • Hi all

L temps down! but otherwise he's going to be locked in bed

KK I think you're right - its really good to hear how folks are where they are today

My down fall - biggest one is BOOKS - then comes food, seeds, plants and all that 'just in case stuff' we have boxes of stuff from each house that worked in that house (curtains, etc) that just doesnt fit in the current house so we keep everything!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Glad to hear DS is feeling a bit better Fay, must be miserable when he is feeling so rotten.

LT - you have been amazing, I can't believe how much debt you have cleared in such a short space of time. 20K in three years plus a wedding and car and all the rest is a huge achievement!

And Fay, can't believe Edna is nearly dead...well done!!

Books! Don't get me started about books! When I moved to this house (1998!!!) I had one big six foot bookcase, and a little waist height one. Now I have three six foot bookcases, and a built in cupboard full of books, magazines and CDs. And thats after decluttering for two years...... And its *why* I started to declutter, before I ever had money problems.

i'm a bu99er with books as well. Now i lurk in the book aisle of the supermarket, write down the details and then order them online from the library, i do still cave quite often and buy new ones.
  • Waves hello again! Books are my real downfall - its shocking, LT like the idea of wiritng down the details - good idea!

Made big batch of scottish pancakes (I think they are called 'drop scones' in Englandshire) - so half are scoffed and half are on a plate on the table - not for long I suppose!!

CHicken stock and noodles in the slow cooker still experimenting

Its so gorgegous here (windy) but not too bad, so must take doggie out on beach with kids in a bit - DS a bit better (last night his temp peaked at 101oF which was scary but he's a bit cooler and more 'lucid' today)

Just got a text telling me that there's a bag of kindling at the front door!

Must must must meal plan for this week - enough bread, milk and fruit/veg in - we don;t need any food so I hopign we can have a few NSD's (which I am rubbish at!)

Tomorrow my evil edna is fully paid off on one account which feels a bit wierd - I love PAD's :) whom ever introduced me to them I thank you so much!!!! I only started them from my diary when someone suggested it (LT?)

Must replenish the bird table cos they have scoffed the lot!

We cross posted earlier - you've acheived a helluvalot me dear - OMG - weddings, rennovations, a long distance relationship for ages, more rennovations etc - wow.:T

DS OK I tended all the night long - inbetween taking his temp over the night as well, it peaked at 2am but he's OK now its up a bit but down alot IYSWIM

I feel like I take one step forward and two steps back mostly. It sort of goes int he right direction but not desperately well planned.

Credit score has gone up a bit over past 3 weeks - cleared 2 old debts I didnt' know I had (both under 100quid) but annoying, also foudn out am not on local electoral register so sorted that as well I think.

The otehr house is coming along, OH is hoping to be here after the new year - but will see how/if that works. He's still got a house to get sorted and hopefully put on the market next year.

OH is heading to the swedish shop later to sort out his kitchen order (he's remortgaged to get enough to get it sorted) his mortgage is so small he's lucky. So living room decorating at the moment (his pal doing it for him), kitchens next on the list and he's got a 'in before we are down at Newyear deadline) so I hope he can manage that - will be so chuffed for him, he's speaking to a private joiner to see if he will put it in for him. He has a van so can save on delviery charges and also can dump all the old kitchen himself.
