re your comments about MIL - yes she looks like both a bloke and a witch, and is a hag to boot so they were pretty good representations of her.

You're not my OH's brother's wife are you? Your interpretation of your MIL sounds just like mine :rotfl:

We've been invited round to the outlaws for Christmas dinner next weekend, they are off on a cruise for a few weeks over xmas so doing a proper xmas thing with decs and everything :(

At least that means I won't have to go there and spoil my real xmas ;)

Hope DS is better Fay xx

  • Jo - I thought the whole point of going away over xmas was to avoid all the dinner stuff - NOT have it early? Are they insane?

Next year we will be away on holiday (me and OH only) cos kids will be at dads, I certainly WONT be having early xmas's to make up for it..............

At least you can enjoy your own xmas - :)

DS in bed with chicken noodle soup and a box set of Father Ted (its supposed to be his xmas pressie!) whoops I figured if he was trapped in bed all day he needed some thing to keep his mind off things!

    Bad mother, bad mother!

  • Ooh - look at Edna go!! That will be another goal achieved Fay - fantastic stuff, you're a real inspiration the way you've got stuck into it all. Mind you're not the only one on this thread either - LT I too hadn't realised exactly what a phenomenal achievement you've made over the past few years - well done and don't ever lose sight of how far you've come!

Fay - was it you who wanted a reminder about remembering to cancel a free trial with the credit records people? I know someone did.....!

Horrible weather here today - really windy and keep hacking down with rain too - I think I shall take that as a mighty good excuse to stay in this afternoon.

OH EH - yeah it was me - thanks!!!!!!

Scurries off - pleased with Edna - so wierd to see my bank account not be overdrawn - I live in OD's - its not great for my 'head' dunno why - its so lovely to see the account in credit (its just over 130CR at the moment - but i need another 10 in there to make this months DD's come out and still be incredit) IYSWIM

Much of it is ex-wine money - did I really waste so much cash on vino - um yes I did - shocking - at the very least a fiver a day.

Hello EH - hope your weather is OK - it sounds like normal very yukky winter weather here!!!

The weather is atrocious! Gale force winds and rain that's going sideways  had 2 dustbins blow into the road in front of my car this morning

I don't know how you cope with this weather all the time Fay

  • Although we do have beaches, am off there now to walk doggie and daughter and daughter's chum and get a bucket of sand as our flagstones are blinking slippy out the back (deadly infact) so free sand is required

Did think about buying some -then gave myself a slap!

  • ROFL at the idea of brollies up there Fay - or indeed over in the Hebrides - don't think I've ever seen ANYONE carrying one over there!!! Jo - to give you an idea, I have shoulder length hair - normally in a ponytail - up there I give the securing band another twist and usually STILL end up with bits all round my face!

I know precisely what you mean about the good feeling that comes from not being overdrawn. Like you we used to consider going overdrawn as just "what you do" each month, and I'm so chuffed with the fact that we just don't live that way anymore! It makes a real difference to the way you feel about yourself doesn't it.
